I get asked out alot by guys who are much younger than me so I'm just curious about what people think about huge age gaps in dating. Consider this: I'll be 40 years old in September and have had men as young as 22 hit on me... That is younger than my daughter.

As long as they make you happy and you can make them happy, GO FOR IT! Why deny yourself or another a lifetime of happiness w/ one another just because of something as minor as age?

Age don't matter, the only issue will be the maturity level and emotional instability.

I wouldn't be with someone that was young enough that I could have given birth to him.. but other than that, I often get along with younger men better than older ones.

dcj22: True. I will say that I don't like the term "cougar." I don't consider myself one. Just a woman looking for the right man.
I personally, look at the term "cougar" being aimed at those that specifically go after younger men and look at them as a piece of meat, more so than an older woman that just happens to be in a relationship with a younger man.

When you meet someone in RW and the two of you feel immediate mutual physical attraction, how old are they/you is not your first question. And the big age difference not always so obvious. You spend some time together, what you'd call "date", and take it from there. It is all good - go for it, if it works for both of you.
But you are talking about being approached by ppl almost half your age here, on CS, right?
These guys go around contacting all ladies who are 15-20 years their seniors, which in my opinion clearly shows some kind of odd agendas. Boring, pathetic and not worth your time.

Do you Americans use that term?
Have you heard the term "Tart With A Heart" ???????
you won't have heard the term "munter" but possibly "minger", but then were getting towards the serious sort of thing where someone might be really hacked off!
Minger is very close to the Australian term "bushpig"
Age is just a number! .. it´s how you feel about yourself that matters! .. if that is what you want then `go for it´! which is what i want & doing right now! ..

Now, where in the world did I put that dictionary again?

I have heard the term "tart with a heart" but I haven't heard of the rest.
In my case although I'd be quite flattered if a younger man showed an interest in me but at the same time I'm not attracted to younger men I guess mainly because having a son in his 20's and all dating a guy half my age would make me seem like I was dating my son.Besides my late husband was alot older then me and I just wouldn't feel right dating a younger man.

Try being 55 and having 22yr old's hitting on you. I have a son older than that!
I think it depends on the couple. And I think it depends on where they are in maturity. Some women who might be in there forties or fifties may feel like in there thirties. Some even look it. and to date or be with a guy in his thirties I don't see anything wrong. But I do think that a guy in his twenties is not mature enough and to young. I really don't think there are many guys who are guys in there twenties that are mature enough to have a long term relationship. Don't bite my head some are but some arnt.
I get hit on by younger men and its okay with me. What I want to date is someone I connect with and you would be surprised how much I can connect with a younger man. It all goes to what their life experiences have been. I met this one guy who was 24 and I was 40 but he had seen a lot of the places I had, was well traveled and very intelligent. We got along very well! Very WELL!

......Interesting and if the situation was reversed...the Man was 40 and the Lady was 24.....I can image the condemnation from you American Ladies....Like 'Dirty Old Man'....I am correct or not...?????????....
