Dusty45: I wonder how one can really know. What dangers do you perceive and manifest?
None for me - in the now.
Stay right minded.
Like, I almost drowned, or fell two stories and landed on my head but im fine only 2 stiches, or going down the steepest hill in town on my bike and almost be decapitated by a sign, or my friend was making a exsplosive and it went off a little early, or the propane tanks were leaking and my friend lights up a lighter to see the leak, or a head on car crash avoided my a milisecond but still hit the side, lol i had no seat belt.
I could name a few more if you would like. While exploring an old building the floor colapsed and turned over on me and my friends, or a shot gun miss fired and shot a whole in the wall next to me.
Much more then your poll leaves options for. If I averaged it out to how many times have I been in situations that could have killed me it would likely come to more the one a day. Only because there have been many years in my life where there were countless times per day that could have seen my life being ended. I have been stabbed, shot at, been in 32 serious vehicle accidents (never as the driver) fallen from roof tops, tree tops, cliff faces, very high speed car chases, etc etc...
It is simply one of the reasons I take great pleasure in listening to the birds sing every day, why I notice people when they smile at me, it is what makes me able to face each day with happiness for another day given to me to be who I am and discover new things and experience the world around me one more time.
In a motorcycle accident where I hit a steel post head on, split my helmet, and was unconscious for 5 minutes. I woke to a crowd of people around me looking at me like a goldfish in a bowl.
I was attacked by a 6'2" 230lb. man who tried to stab me. (Didn't work out well for him.)
Woman slipped a drug in my drink once and gave me too much. I won't describe the details of what happened next. Pretty nasty how the body reacts.

I omitted the car chases from my list but it still sounds like you have me beat.
Shedman01: I forgot to mention I live in the same country as dusty so anytime she is in the kitchen apparently my life is in danger then too... *teasing of course*
In general I work on bulk ship carriers (coal and Container)ships in general hull and engine Maintenance and around super heaters and boilers so I have a lot of close calls.

LOL meh no competition in my mind, but sure sounds like a few of us have what could be called charmed lives. I just didn't want to make a huge ol posting so went with etc etc on the end to cover the rest LOL

It all good. It makes me feel better to see that I am not the only one.
You are talking about risk? well, how can you perceive it? how can you always know that you are in danger? risk is related to uncertainity and it exist whether or not it is recognised by those who are most directly involve in it..take the case of child playing in the middle of street, workman using a machinery without knowing its faulty, a pedistrian crossing along with a wall which is about to collapse.this is why no body can perceive it how many times they are involve in danger or risk.
Paradox67: Oh my...I have not laughed that hard in a long time...
My mate next door could be your twin with even the same hair style ,and Geez don't the cops hassle him ,drives him nuts as he is a real good and well behaved guy, he just looks like a car thief!

I suppose it all depends on how you view your question. You're in danger every time you get behind the wheel of a car. So, I could say several times a day.
If you're asking about taking risk's and putting yourself in possible harms way? Like sky diving, heavy drug use, or something along those lines...2-4 times a year, maybe more.

Normally I wouldn't ask such a personal question but since you posted it....are you into heavy drug use?

That was my original thought on the matter.
As to how many close calls I've had in life...um, that depends on whether or not you count all of the times I stood on the roof of a two-story garage for my neighbor/mentor/big brother to push me off of it while he was teaching me how to fall.
Btw, that saved my life in one of the times I will count, which was the car wreck that would have killed me had I not been either stupid, brave, or too trusting (whichever you want to count the roof thing as) as a child.
I also had a close call horseback riding once, and again, having him make horses throw me to teach me how to fall off of a horse properly also saved me from being trampled on by the two horses right behind me at full gallop.
So, twice childhood trust and naivete, along with boredom from living in the country, saved me.
