Michael211_2000: That is, such a bad bad idea! Big cats (as well as other animals that can easily maul if not kill and eat you!) should only be in the wild or raised and kept by people trained and equipped to deal with them (ie. zoos and sanctuaries).
The general idiot who is only looking for something cool to have, is only going to get himself/herself and perhaps others hurt if not killed, and then the animal itself will likely be killed... nobody wins, and the animal is the only 1 who had no choice in the scenario!
Not long ago, some people who were keeping 2 pet tigers not far from where I live accidentally left the pen door unlatched and the tigers got out and loose in the neighborhood... needless to say, a few dogs were killed by the tigers, people in the area were terrified, and the tigers were both finally found and shot dead (you'd think somebody would have brought tranqilizer guns and used them instead, but heck no they used live ammunition on the terrified animals!). Unfortunately, the cat's owners didn't even face any charges for this fiasco and it makes me furious that they even had the big cats and were so very careless with them... and the cats are both dead now.
Large predatory animals (as well as smaller venomous reptiles and spiders) should not be allowed to be kept as pets... it's wrong, people too often get hurt and the animals if not mistreated often end up dead for no good reason.
What really get's me miffed is that I have to pay the state here nearly $100 a year for a permit to keep the orphaned baby raccoons people bring me. I'm inspected regularly by game warden's, have to show I'm taking good care of the kiddos and have all the pen doors padlocked and latched 3 different ways... yet if I wanted a pet tiger, giant constrictor snake, venomous spiders or whatever I could get one with no permits required whatsoever here! Dogs maul far more people every year in this state than raccoons ever will, and yet dogs require no permit either! It's insane.

Post of the day! Some neighbors in KY owned a Servil cat and it literally lived in their car. That poor thing was accustomed to living on the Savannah in Africa chasing down rabbits to eat. Not freezing to death in a Toyota in Kentucky.
pastortim: Well it would be cool. Here kitty kitty, "ROAR!" scratch, scratch, bite. hmmm. But women are much like cats anyway and having a woman around is like having a big cat around.
Then you can play with that tiger anytime you want and she may not scratch or bite either.
and there is the story of these two little old ladies who somehow got custody of a Bengal Tiger to bring him to a refuge from a court after the traveling circus was raided by the DEA for transporting drugs from Mexico into the US...the drugs were hidden under the floor of the tiger's cage. Anyway, there were up north and drove down to L.A. with the tiger in the back seat of their car feeding him hamburgers on the way down. I can see them pulling up to a McDonalds and this stripped tail hangs out the window...

There was a locale here that raised a cobra that bit him, he died from it. The local hospitals do not stock antivenins for non local snakes. There is an old storie of 'the old woman and the snake'. The storie goes as the old woman found a snake in the snow and nursed it back to health and then it bit her. She said to it 'i helped you why did you bite me?'. The snake said back 'when you found me i was a snake and i'm still a snake and thats what i do'. I think that nature follows its rules , not ours.
children are not pets, pets are not children, anything that wants to eat you is not a pet...if you take a dangerous animal into your home your dumb and you will be the biggest meal that animal ever had....or your other pets or children will be...or worse one of your neighbors kids...

During the stylish 1960's and 70's it was very fashionable and perfectly legal in the UK to keep exotic animals as household pets, these ranged from leopards, pumas and panthers to crocodiles and poisonous snakes.
Anybody could legally own and keep them as pets, take them out for walks and keep them in the house without any kind of licence or any special training.
In 1976 the Government introduced the Dangerous Wild Animals Act to protect the public and ensure the animals we're looked after properly. When the bill came into force exotic pet owners we're only really faced with 3 choices. Get a licence and improve the facilities for looking after the animals incurring great expense. Give their pet to a zoo or authorized keeper of such animals. Have their pet put down. Many owners gave their pets up to local zoos and wildlife parks, but with the amount of animals around the zoos and other establishments couldn't cope with the numbers, so some we're unfortunately put down. A minority of owners who couldn't stand to see their pet put down, set them free to fend for themselves in the wild and this is how the majority of Big Cats got into the UK countryside, obviously there is the possibility of zoo and circus escapees but being released from captivity is the most recognized source for most of the Big Cats roaming the UK.
The only cats I like are of the women variety. They can be seen in the concrete jungle sporting stripes, spots, sharp teeth, crooked teeth, lots of hair, no hair, eye patch, parrot on their shoulder, hook for a hand, peg-leg and they talk like this, "Argh, ahoy matey. Playeth with my kitten, now, before I hoist ye up the yardarm!"
You take your chances with any animal even if they purr nicely. They purr nicely before they pounce on your pocketbook.
Never, I'd like to have a big dog which can company me and protect me...a very big brave cool dog...Germany Black...sorry don't know how to translate it into English...in Chinese it's called Germany Heibei...always be used by police.
