I got to say that the scriptures mark this time as a period of changes, literature seem to support that, all other events seem indicate the same.

There is so much misinformation to confuse people. People will tell and do anything they can for attention and making a dollar......it is a mess. It is great in one way and bad in another......it has it's uses and abuses.

Since not one of us can guarantee that we'll be alive in 2012 (or 2030), whether or not it will be the end of mankind is irrelevant. If it is indeed the end of mankind as we know it, I can only hope the few survivors will have learned from previous generations of mistakes and will rebuild a better world. But since it isn't likely that human intelligence will improve and human greed will die, the same mistakes will simply be repeated.

The prophet Daniel prophesied a 7 year pact that will be broken by one of the signatory world leaders near it's midpoint, and that breaking of the pact will occur three and a half years prior to the second coming of Christ, and it will be marked by a bloody invasion of Israel by a multinational force and worldwide chaos and disasters on a scale never before seen.
So we are AT LEAST 7 years from the end.
No offense intended toward the Mayans, but to be honest I haven't seen much evidence to support their prophetic ability.
In fact I have seen various "experts" interpret the Mayan prophecies very differently.
Clearly someone WANTS us to believe the Mayan predictions instead of those that Jesus himself reaffirmed.
