I believe if there is such thing as god 'it' is a power, a force, probably within us all, energy that is everlasting.
Nothing to do with gender, heaven, hell or books wrote ages before.
Certainly God is a power and a force as you say, not a human.
But He's also the embodiment of all wisdom and understanding and knowledge.
It's not that we assign him "gender" or lower him to human status in referring to him as "Him". That would be ridiculous.
But it's even more ridiculous to degrade him all the way down to the level of an inanimate object with no will and no intelligence.
In the absence of a more fitting personal pronoun, I'd say the masculin is the best choice, considering his role as king and master of the entire Universe.
Konigsberg: And the name of God is Big Bang Rico! Kaboom!!!!!!!!!!!
In effect the Big Bang theory is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of knowledge about the universe....
...it is now being thought that in effect....that may only be the start of the universe as we know it and perceived it to date........
...we are now moving into the possibility of parallel universes....and parallel dimensions......the laws of physics dictate it....or else we where wrong all the time and we know nothing at all....
...in which case we would need to rethink all our scientific knowledge to date...

while respecting the logic and the presentation of the argument.....that is based entirely on the need to believe....

Well whoever he is or whatever it is can be of no concern to me right now. I have just had a phone call. My father in law has just died and I have to go.
