Hot_Single_Dude: I know you are a gainst the war and a gainst the politicians leading toward this horrbile and illegal war. I just think that it is time to stay out of Iraq as a military power and allowing the United nations taking over and I am certain that much less than the 275,000,000 dollers a day can rebuilt the whole country much earlier than any one thinks is possible!
I am sure forein aid workers and builders and all civilian personals are more than welcome in the same country and I am sure Iraqis just hate the occupation because they see guns and violence every where because of the existens of the occupiers.
America should pull out fast as possible, United nations should take over, a massiv civil rebuilding should start and a propper compensation should be paid back to Iraq because the war it self was illegal and not autorised by any body else than some few right winged politicians whom got a Idea all of a sudden which was totaly stupied!
March alone.....more than 900 iraqi civilians parished for ever and the number is higer than that I bet because of the censorship , and when they say 900 civilians god knows how many "other" iraqis have been killed over there.........Human beings are human beings and any human beings which is killed because of an illegal war has been killed illegaly and as a result of a crime some how .....but oak :"We dont do body counts" the occupiers said from the very begining of this opocalypse!
Ok, agreed, if we pay them a proper compensation, then I suppose that would do, I just dont want to see our troops pull out and leave and not help them at all. I am sure the guns are the big issue, I know i would be scared if i saw someone with a gun coming toward me and my family, and would probably react the same way as the people there do by getting their guns....
I am sure there are people who are willing to go as civilians and help them rebuild their country, now if we could just get that started!! But, we should all know by now that this wont happen until Bush is out of office. And then the people there are going to think much like the people on this thread have and assume that we are all the same and that we all wanted this war, so then what happens? Everyone on earth hates us forever??
Next time a politician tells you anything, just call him or her a liar...as they are a professional liar by profession and i have nothing but contempt for all of them.
The military doesn't go to war....Parliament sends them from the Uk and the Senate sends from the States.Implication...there to blame not the military...except the ones who are trigger happy and incompetent.
Exactly what i have been trying to say!!! Only written much better!!
casie1600: I can just about gaurentee you that if it were written on their contracts that we would start a pointless war and they would have to go and kill innocent people who had done nothing to us, that most of our military men and women would not have signed up for it!! And, for that, not all branches of our military are the ones killing people. Only select units of certain branches are there for that purpose, and would much rather not have to kill anyone. Our military sign up to protect our country, their families and friends, not to kill anyone, not to go to another country and kill anyone there either!!
I think you're spot on and I really appreciate your comments but I also think Oslo has some good points.
From my own perspective I can say that you have hit on some of my beliefs and reasons for entering the service. I was a volunteer and I knew what the consequences could be. Shoot, after a good Rambo movie I might have even joked about the prospect of war but in reality, I always hoped there would be no wars. Unfortunately, war has come to us and though I appreciate the support received by most I'm smart enough to not expect it from all.
In the past 28 years I have been involved in peacekeeping operations, 2 gulf wars, 13 years of OEF & OIF and several humanatarian relief efforts. I have been shot at and I have shot at others. I only mention this because these were things I would not have chosen to do. Rather they were things I promised I would do and that my fellow Soldiers, Sailors Arimen and Marines counted on me to do. I think a majority of those serving are like me. It's not about glory, war, winning medals, etc.. it's about doing what you believe to be right and taking care of your own in the process.
Sparky55: I wish you would stop beating around the bush and say what's really on your mind...
Nice to see you Kiddo
Nice to see you Mr.
If there is something I know for sure, is that you are one of the honorable ones, that would do his job, his duty for his country and his fellow comrades... If I had to be there, I would want you nearby, at least I would know I was coming home...
Hopefully there's many guys and girls overthere doing what they are supposed to do... and keeping safe so they can make it home.
I am sure that someone else had said this for what I am about to say.I have been over there and it is not just some job or just something to do.It is your life and it is all you know from the moment you sign up.You are taken away from everything you know and you do not know if you will see anyone or talk to anyone you know again. It is hard to go week or a month at a time without talking to anyone you love and want to hear from.It is hard being over there but if that is what has to happen so we do not end up being there again from pulling out too early then so be it.Also when your in the military you are told what to do and most of these men and women are just following orders.I have brothers in the military and also cousins so I do hold a lot that is said about the military close and I will stand up for what I believe in.Always.So I am in agreement with others that you just need to stop!
Did you know that of the so called 90,000 civilians killed in Iraq that 96% of them were killed by fellow Iraqis, and of the british and american troops who lost thier lives there...99.8% were killed by iraqis too while trying to keep them from killing each other
oslojente: And it should have been "at least"...typo
I didnt get the flower until after I had posted that. I am sorry for the name calling. I felt as though you were still trying to make it seem that I was a horrible person, and that i wanted this war. Especially when you referenced my writing that we need to come up with a solution as what solution destroying a country... etc... I dont like this war at all, but i have family and friends in the military whom I love and respect a lot, and I cant stand to see them talked about like they are a bunch of horrible evil killing machines.
I did lose my cool, and now would like to take the time to write on here where everyone can see that I am sorry. I am sorry to oslo for the name calling, that was very rude and way out of line and character for me.
I am also sorry to anyone else whom I may have offended on here, but my viewpoints remain the same and will always stay the same. It is a very stupid war, I agree with that as do most. But most dont understand that it is not our military who choose to go to be in this war. We have to have a military for our own defense. If not, then our country wouldnt stand a chance. I agree with the above post, we should have a branch set aside for homeland defense so that our soldiers could choose not to go and fight in stupid wars. If this was an option before this war started, this war probably would never have happened...
With that, I am sorry if I have been rude or offensive in any way, that was not my intention at all. I merely wanted to say that I dont think it would be right to leave that country as it is right now. Then it kinda just escelated from there because I suppose I didnt post as clearly as I should have and everyone kinda started being mean to me, so naturally my defences went up...
Truely sorry and now I take my leave from this aweful thread... and the chicken man who started it and ran... makin a mental note not to open any posts by loveonly ever again as they are all crap and just get me all pissed off!!
So hopefully nobody hates me and we can all be friends again, especially sorry to oslo!!
I will not condone or knock the draft. But reguardless of where they are orderd to go, I am proud of the men and women that inlist. I think it speaks a lot about who they are. I would more want to trust my country to be defended by people who want to defend it rather then to some one who is told, to do it with no choice.

Jim, thats absolute rubbish. When they assaulted falluja they gave notice that "leave the area before the assault begins".The non combatants had nowhere to go and mostly stayed, and when a mechanised assault enters a city to pacify the "insurgents" they had to blow the crap out the place, with the methodology if it moves shoot it as there all insurgents as all the non combatants left.
All those people burried under demolished buildings or shot with a barret >50 cal must have been put down to road accidents then.
