I watched a video clip today of the presidents motorcade. It took more than 2mins to pass a side road,it was that long.Unbelievable! It had an ambulance,bomb disposle truck, and everything else you can imagine,travelling through this little place.
Talk about overkill, at least 40 motorbikes,and 40 cars,and everthing else you can think off!

North Korea is threatening the south again. I know has gotten to be a habit. This time if the south has a artillery drill from the shelled island.....then the North is promising "massive relatiation". I know just like out of 1950's Black and White Korean Ware movie.
China...is urging the US "to play a constructive role". That because we always construct so well with our dollars.
Governor Richardson is tired of running New Mexico, so he is in North Korea to have talks with the Kim and his number 3 son. Richardson is going to ask them to come to New Mexico to stop the flow of illegal aliens and cartel drugs coming into New Mexico. His thinking is that if Kim methods of defending a border work between the Koreas.....they might work on the SW border. Richardson is there to see if he can borrow 200 miles of containment wire.
Having gotten the humor out of the way to begin with. This is serious stuff again. The South is relocating all civilians from the island.
And making it into a 'military island'. Not what the North Koreans wanted to hear.
Making island into hardened military complex....takes some time...but I am getting visions of Wake Island, Iwo Jima, Corrigidor, Okinawa. But having looked (via satellite imagery) at the North Korean islands in the region....the South was not the first to get this idea.
This area is only 70 miles from Soul and the other major cities of South Korea Northwest. To put it simple.....the guy that flies bottle rockets during your local 4th of July......has the range to hit Soul from here. Just about everything in the North Korean missile inventory has the range to make the flight.
So clearly the North sees this as national security prima terra. Critical land for its national security. So does the south. So we have a tug a war over some islands.....just maybe it is time for the UN to step in and declare them UN Zones for peace keeping. The best idea I have s far on the issue.

"He wanted to get me an answer," Rebecca Duke said a day after her husband, Clay Duke, killed himself. He shot at school board members in Panama City, missing some of them by mere inches, before he exchanged gunfire with a security guard. As he lay on the floor in the boardroom, he shot himself to death in the head.
"The economy and the world just got the better of him," Rebecca Duke said in a rambling press conference to talk about the man she loved.
Police said Clay Duke was a 56-year-old ex-convict who had circled Dec. 14 on a calendar in a mobile home he kept in the woods, evidence he had been planning the attack for some time.
Bay District officials confirmed his wife had been fired earlier this year from her job teaching special education. Video of Tuesday's meeting showed Duke, 56, complaining about taxes and his wife being fired before shooting at close range as the superintendent begged, "Please don't."
