The cost of the military is the single greatest reason for US inflation and the collapse of the economy.

The government prints up ever more funny money and gives it to the war industry (and wall street). Thus diluting the value of the dollars in circulation.

It enriches a small minority and impoverishes everybody else.

No "stimulus" bandaid can stop the hemorrhaging from the gaping war wound. There can be no "turnaround" as long as the war goes on.

US foreign policy has nothing to do with productivity or competition. It's all about military dominance. And there is no way the US can keep up with prosperous countries like China.

The world is headed for a military showdown in which the US will try to maintain world dominance by military might instead of economic power and diplomacy, while the rest of the world will be unifying to prevent that from happening.

The plan for military dominance is official policy.
It's right there to be seen in the PNAC plan.
It's glossed over and presented as a positive thing of course, but the intent to dominate the world is unmistakable.

The latest green jobs failure in Massachusetts is no surprise:

Evergreen Solar Inc., which received $58 million in state aid to open a factory in 2008 at the former military base in Devens, announced today it would shut the plant and let go 800 workers by the end of this quarter. The solar-panel plant is a cornerstone of Governor Deval Patrick’s efforts to make Massachusetts a hub for the emerging clean-energy industry…

The company lost $54 million through the first nine months of 2010, and has, since its founding in 1994, accumulated a total deficit of more than $630 million. Last month, it engineered a reverse stock split to maintain capital requirements for the main Nasdaq stock exchange. Before the split, Evergreen’s stock had been trading at about 50 cents.

Evergreen did not say what will happen to the solar-panel assembly work now done at Devens, but the company noted it will continue to operate facilities in China and Michigan.

But it was just a few short years ago the company was a darling in the eyes of the Patrick administration, which offered Evergreen a rich package of grants, land, loans, and other aid – some $76 million in all-to build a new facility at Devens. The company eventually accepted $58.5 million, one of the largest investments Massachusetts has made in a private company.

They should start calling them “brown jobs” — to reflect the color of the sewer down which untold millions have been flushed in the name of environmental stimulus.

When I was in Sapporo Japan the city installed hundreds of solar- panel-powered outdoor lights around the city. They worked great for a few months and then started to fail. Within 2 years they were all broken and the city had to get rid of them.

Same here in France. In Lyon they put up solar powered LED signs at every bus stop to give information about the buses. But in a few months none of them worked.

But, they did create jobs.

You got that right. It's all over now.
There is even serious talk of repealing Obama-care before it even takes effect.

Obama's administration will go down as a failure to do anything significant.

You mean, like "cash for clunkers". Now there was a waste of tax money, good used cars, etc.
