VP Biden is in Iraq. Were the military leaders on both sides (Iraq and US) are saying a longer stay for US forces in needed. A 10 year extension length is mentioned.
With a complete US withdrawal coming this summer.....and the speed that this administration makes military decision.....they need to figure this or get on the process of figuring this out.
The Iraqi military is requesting a US present...to protect its borders......my my does that not sound like the same reason that US forces are in South Korea?
Seems the Iraq military is slightly concerned about being pinched between the Syrian and Iranian defense agreement. With Iran already shelling into the Kurdish north Iraq, the Iraqi military has not been able to secure their borders. So what is a country to do?
Ask the United States for assistance.

But this pales when compared to the acts of alQeada and foreign fighters in Iraq. Some 120,000 foreign fighter and alQeada were detained in Iraq. None of them was there for any positive purpose other then to disrupt the country and slow its democracy.
That Iraq today...is near asking for a continued stay of the US forces in the country.....should tell many that Iraq fears a return of those day of 2004-2007. That this American and Iraqi friendship...though troubled at times....is still a sound one.
That benefits the stability of the Persian Gulf region...
If such a request is made....then the United States...will only be in one Muslim country (Afghanistan) without agreement and contract with a term limit of the stay.
