I have always had friends who were single and some in relationships. I would not know how to go through life and not

Do the last twelve months count ? If so, one year.
15 single and I do not plan to ever change that status. I must admit though that it took a while to adjust after marriage because you can't really do the same stuff you did when you were 20 anymore, but then on the flipside, you can do other stuff that you couldn't do at 20 that you can do now
aJester22: Was it always a trip, or did it take a little while to get used to it?, . .
It took awhile to adjust for sure. At first I didnt know myself let alone what I wanted for dinner. Prior to that I was always Mom and Wife etc. I could take great care of everyone else but I had to learn how to care of myself. But Im so grateful for this period in my life however long the ride lasts. I really love my life (and myself) now.
aJester22: 3 1/2 months back in 2006, . . and about 4 1/2 months now, . .
Total, a little over 8 months, . . .i guess, .
It will get better. You are still in what I would call the grieving stage. Even though you are not a widower. It had to be like watching your dreams die I never realized how much my future dreams were of me and my husband till he passed. It was always his hand I dreamed of holding as I grew older in life. Now I hold a lap top But I have learned to laugh again. And you will too. To really laugh.
This single life, sure isn't too much fun, . . .at my age, . .
It probably would have been a lot different in my twenties, . .
Listen Jest...right now its not...but it wont stay that way if you stop focusing on "The single life" and start focusing on YOUR life. What your doing is hurting yourself over something your not ready for yet anyway.

Dinner?, . . .the first month, I only ate dinner, . . every other day, . .and drank about 8 cups of coffee, per day, . . and lived on this computer, . .
I kinda got hit with empty nest, not too long ago, too

I find it for myself a quite interesting experience being really single. That allows to take care only of myself (and my daughter) without being bored by outside "controls". This is freedom. But yes, sometimes, a true caring and loving lady is a lack. Sometimes only.
