What did you think of this? I saw a little backing down from China, especially about Human Rights.

CNN is the only station that has first acces from the goverment on any news.
Last night I just caught Anderson Cooper on what someone had said or did about Tuscon? or referring to a person about it? He was so much out of his character and that was the first time I have ever seen him reply boldy , loudly and be so serious. maybe it was about a comment on the people who were blaming the shootings on politics?
He thought this person was a digrace etc. and then said "That is my opinon and I felt I needed to respond to it". They went right to a commercial but never have I seen Cooper be so demonstrative. Does any one know who he was talkiing about or saw it? Anderson Cooper 360 CNN . Tueday evening news.

US presses China to stop manipulating US currency (Dollar). China is buying US debt at an incredible rate, meaning that we owe them Billions of Dollars; which we will never be able to pay back. What President Obama is trying to do (and I agree) is to reduce the trade deficit with China.

Billions of people live in China, and the USA can sell them things like airplanes, electronics and even food.

USA also presses to hold China accountable for Human Rights violations.

At the State dinner last night held by President Obama for President Hu, there was a very funny moment. Barbra Streisand was invited and asked what she was doing there.

Her reply "I used to work in a Chinese Restaurant". LOL! Only Barbra could get away with that statement.

(Update: Gabby is walking around and looking out of the Hospital window. She may be transferred from the Hospital to a nursing facility in Houston, Texas as soon as tomorrow).

Barbra Streisand - Evergreen (live)

This is a recent article that discusses some of the fallout from the press conference.

"And China typically defines human rights in terms of improvements in quality of life such as higher incomes and better living conditions, rather than civil liberties such as freedom of speech that define such values in the West".

the economic relationships between the governments of china and the government of the united states are mutually important now specially after the enormous economic investment both nations have made with each other. hopefully the general people will keep organized in both nations so the exploitation doesn't get worse. the maximisation of share holder's values by the investors in these economies are once again showing us what they intensions and goals are and what they are willing to do to accomplish them. THE SOCIOECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY OF NOT ONLY THE U.S BUT THE WHOLE WORLD IS CHANGING!

The Chinese themselves view Tibet in colonial terms: that is, not as part of China proper, but as non-Chinese territory which China has a right to own and exploit, on the basis of relationship that existed 700 years ago, or, at best, 200 years ago. This attitude is evident already from the title of the Chinese Government's White Paper, which refers to the "ownership" of Tibet. If Tibet were truly an integral part of China for hundreds of years, as China claims, Tibet could not form the object of "ownership" by the country it is already a part of. The very notion of "ownership" of Tibet by China is colonialist and imperialist in nature.

President Obama took a 68 billion dollar bribe instead of facing up to addressing the lapsing of the three year promise by China to reform and gave China another five years closure to ruling the world.

When refugees were pouring into Lhasa from Eastern Tibet with accounts of Chinese atrocities there, and as the Chinese presence throughout the country became increasingly oppressive, the Tibetan people rose up against all odds, in desperation and hope, in March 1959.
The uprising was brutally put down by the PLA, which claimed to have killed over 87,000 Tibetans between March 1959 and October 1960 in Central Tibet alone.
Another round of promises and more news censure ship in China ever increasingly leading the world into WW3. Either the Chinese withdraw from Tibet or there will sooner than later WW3...

Just joking, Bub, You have to quit watching and listening to the news for a while. Dare you, 3 days, bet you can't do it.

Sarah's tv program was her last one Sunday and they put bits and pieces together of all of them. Instead of remarking on her all the time, people should have appreciated the showing of that beautiful state. It was an extra special show that showed her true personalty and showing her families and Alaska. Wish I could shoot a rifle like that, I'd be on the ground I think if I did..
Always wanted to go skeet shooting. That was funny when Bristol did not want to shoot, and she said to her mother ,laughing, just go take your prom hair home. Something my daughter might have said to me when she was still home.thumbs up Final show was great.... and beautiful Alaska.wave

I wonder if this includes how they push their children from the time they walk to become so ecucated and talented in dance , music and most of their children speek 3 languages taught from the time they started. > Quality of rights and higher incomes and better living conditions can only be produced by the maximam education from dawn to dusk, daily, they demand from the youngest generations.

Is that what you want your children to be?

I remember the Olmypic committee taking away the gold medals of the Chinese divers...because they were to young to participate in the summer games.

Now how does a National Sport Organization fail to get the birth certificates right? How does the Chinese Gov't issue passport not reflecting a accurate age?

But hey the young divers were the best in the country....so to win at the Summer games they had to compete...so the International rules had to be bent just a little....that is not a problem for a
Socialist country. They don't make rules for them .....

There is maximum education from dawn to dusk for you........

That was just a presented issue as how they bring up their children. There youngest generation far exeeds ours, intellectually. We are about the only country that has just one unniversal language and that is a disgrace when you know other countries teach their children two or three. They have a greater population and we are far behind as in educating our children and children are our future.I did not catch that at the olympics, but I do know the children who volunteered to be greeters had to know & speak the languge of each country involed. My two children went to college. Each of them do not practice their college Majors, but work in a differant area. There are no jobs here that many do not get to work in the field they wanted and studied for. It's all backwards here. Most country's children have to serve their country after high school, then go on to further education. Did my kids learn what you can learn in China, no. They both have college loans that they will pay back most of their lives. That is a dawn to dusk job for them as they work and try to keep up with expences and their children, and pay back loans or our country attaches your wages. 24/7. That is our rights in eduacation? There is none. So why do so many go overseas to college? Just saying. China has the most child prodigy's.

thank you for raising the issue holly.wave

whilst i believe the US education system is generally good overall in comparison to most countries, sitting on our laurels and saying its good enough, it will do, in comparison to japan china etc is simply not good enough. we must strive to do better than what we have already, and this is proven in comparisons between the 3 countries. what you stated in your post above is absolutely true. the better educated a countries citizens are, the better off sociologically and economically they are.

the benefits of those countries strong emphasis on education are also blatantly apparent in world leading technological, and progressive industrial development

the quest for knowledge is an eternal quest, and education doesn't and should not stop at the class room bell at the end of the daybouquet
