Brits: What will you be doing with your Census paper? (33)
1MMilesofWater: This is the first one of these damn things I've ever had to fill in, and it winds me up. Not only do they expect you to fill tax forms in yourself, (making you do their work for them) but they expect you to fill in a stupid form asking for loads of personal information. Filling it in isn't a problem for me. The fact that it's illegal not to is though.
Is it just me?

Surely they already have this information via 'employment records' those on 'pensions and benefits', school registers and the electrol register, there must be loads of ways they can get all thin info but as you say, "we're doing the work for then" and it's costing millions

The census tells the government where to spend the tax money. If you fill in the census just right and convince all your friends to do the same, it might mean your neighborhood gets some perks.

We had to do ours last year. It's illegal here not to do it, also . They don't send out cops but they hire workers t do it. I suppose it you refuse they might. It's one way we get more money for our schools and things but yeah they do ask persoanl questions.

I worked as an innumirator in Indian Census2011. I found it an interesting job bcoz i got the chance to meet strangers who respected me a lot. I got the exposure of handling complicated objections. Some showed the good interest & some questioned more intead of answering. But the common thing was that the people expecting individual benefits. Infact, it was one of the memorable task in my life & i learnt a lot.
