breezee: Phil the What????

FYI, there's no such thing as a Greek Greek Royal Family!!
Members of the Austrian and Danish royal families were installed here by the Europeans after Greece gained it's independence from the Turks.

They all had names like "Glitzburg".....

And Greece has well and truly disowned them and they're not even allowed a Greek passport.

So no more of this "Phil the Greek" stuff.
You legally adopted him a long time ago. He's your baby now.

Cant we ask for a refund? Maybe a nice quiet holiday home with some blue sea for me to look at would be ideal.

Whenever he does something wrong or drops a clanger the newspapers always call him Phil the Greek!

And yes your right about the ruling classes within Europe.

I think they cost us all £0.28p a week each? Personally i would make them wash my car for 28p although their probably the only group of people who the average politician will creep to if theirs a chance of an invite to the queens garden parties.

I think i'm sailing close to heresy nowrolling on the floor laughing Who knows in a few posts i might be dragged away for treason.

I don't know what we have to be grateful for? After all the previous king before he had to go for treason advocated the luftwaffe bombing britain into submission in ww2.

Who needs a family like that in charge, its hardly nice to take care of your loyal subjects by bombing them.

Then again we have a tradition in the Uk of slaughtering the working classes on behalf of those who own the assets in the country.

Anyone wants our Royal family they are welcome, especially the young princes who attend parties from Chinook aircraft at the cost of £30k to the taxpayer when the troops in Afghanistan dont have enough of these helicopters.Another disgrace, they just dont appear to know what bad taste is.

Basically nope unless we tear up our system and become a republic.

Theres a fair percentage of people who would be pressed to really advocate keeping them as a head of state.

After all they have no powers, there a drain on resources and they have more than a beneficial tax position. They only started paying tax in the last few years when people brought up getting rid of them!

I've heard people suggesting how much of BP is owned by the Royal Family but it is a high percentage, so i am sure like the Wealthy French banking family they will complain when there down to their last £600m in funds.

Maybe i am just dumb or something but somehow i fail to see how a dynasty that owned an swath of the planet is only worth a reputed £300 or £600 million.laugh

It's comical that the Royal family need any funding from the British Taxpayer, and i use the term comical as in down right insulting, not in the amusing tense.

I dont know what to mena a bout this......

But all these Royal Families Costing a huge amount of money and beside they enjoy immunity as well which I personally dislike and finding it evena gainst law and order in a society.

I guess all the money used to these Royals could be used much better for other purpuses and beside all the castles and so on would be better used as turist attractions and a part of the "Past"!

I dont like the idea a bout being "Royal" and still no right to mean any thing in public a bout the policies of the government and just telling exactly what the current government tells you to tell! they are all employers of the governments and when ever they are raised in their wages paid from taxes....then they say what ever the government orders them to tell or mean.

Not my cup of tea at all Becasue actually what these "Royals" tell, mean some thing for many people and still the government using these Roylas to Spin for their politics, and the same governments using our taxes for spininning Royalty style!laugh
