Thanks Lach, now you and Frisca are confusing me. Did I have to pay for that because I had to be given a Batak surname? I knew my late hubby told me he paid that amount so it could be used for the traditional wedding party.... Anyway, I went through the whole thing not knowing what was going on, just followed like a blind person cos I didn't even understand the language back then.... But I would admit that I quite enjoyed it cos it was so different from the normal weddings that we had back home.....
Hi Meanwhile and Narnia, that is a good idea to have a CS gathering in Bali. I'm in on it ladies....kabarkan aja ya Fris, what do you think about that?
Selamat pagi my 3 friends from Indonesia, I read blogs and comment for enjoyment too. So don't take it too personel..kalo perasanmu begitu, bagaimana bisa berteman dengan oran lain lol
oh yes, it is possible Green. My late hubby and I were far from each other due to work on and off for 5 years. We were constantly in touch through phones. Sometimes I took time off from work and flew over to the country where he was working...I didn't like it in the beginning but after a while I got used to it.
I'm up to page 12,568 and that's only mid chapter one.
Bet you by the time a man is done reading this whole book, he'll probably be too old to apply it, he'll probably be in a wheelchair or he'll probably be at the age where he can not please his woman anymore... That book is bloody tooooo thick...
I am able to cover up myself with my smile... When I'm very sad, I just keep smiling even though it is breaking my heart, but shand, when it comes to people who wants to bring someone down because of their misery, then best not to associate yourself with them. Find other positive minded people....
Guadal, thanks for posting your blog. AUSAIDS that come in to the SOlomons are used again to pay for all the RAMSI's that are doing the work in the country - so the money circulates back to Australia - not in the Islands... I'm not too sure of what's going on back in the Solomons but I know that life is getting tougher for them, jobs are being cut, and the ones' that are mostly affected are the 'grassroots' - the term used for the locals from there.
I've pasted here a prayer put forth by one of my friends (a Solomon Islander) who is a lecturer now in one of the University of Hawaii
PACIFIC ISLANDS PRAYER
Our father Who art in Canberra, Wellington and Washington DC Hallowed be thy policies Thy aid come Thy will be done in the Pacific Islands As it is in Canberra, Wellington and Washington DC
Give us this day Our daily aid Forgive us our mismanagement As we forgive our corrupt politicians
Lead us not Into poverty But deliver us from your domination
Amen
RAMSI PRAYER
Our father Who art in GBR Hollowed be thy wealth Thy military, police and consultants come Thy will be done in Solomon Islands As it is in Canberra and Wellington
Give us this day Our daily assistance Forgive us our mismanagement As we forgive our corrupt politicians
Lead us not into false expectation But deliver us from dependency on you
Hi short, I have the same problem as you do but I pretty much know where to draw the line. The only person that I would give money to are my parents (not that they ask for it) - and that is only on special ocassion - like mother's day or father's day, birthdays, etc. ANother one is when my brother or sister had to get married, we all have to contribute X amount per head as members of the family. This one I find neat and interesting and I don't mind doing. The remaining...it all a NO... Are you Samoan by birth? JUst curious....
Good morning hoping, One new additional interest of mine is hanging out here and reading the blogs - so interesting that I even log in to this site wherever I am.... Beside that, my long time hobby which I'm still stuck to and love are diving and travelling....
Good morning petlover, I'm sorry to hear about your friend... Many things happen around us that we find hard to explain at times. Look at the whole thing in a positive perspective - your friend is no longer in pain and is resting in Peace with the Almighty....
Hoping, I'm not going anywhere - naaah...just because some guy told me I'm on the wrong site... I have made friends here and enjoying the blog section......
