RE: losing someone

Hi Bambina, handshake

You were lost "between heaven and earth Indonesia" and now you've been found in the "Lost and Found" Department. At last, you are not lost anymore.confused laugh

Seriously, my sincere regrets on the loss of your mother.

My mom is 88 years old with a Parkinson disease. Not easy to see her in that state, but I appreciate that she's here.

Bambina, your close friends will miss you. Also the one you made on CS.

bouquet cheers

RE: 4rKiN Paperwork

Z,

They have been doing some PR work for quite a while now. My guess is that Shakespeare's work contributed to the hype.

You are right, many charitable organizations fall through the cracks in this crazy system.
That is for the needy one that are known. Many old people don't manifest themselves out of pride and they live in misery.

I believe that charity begins at home.

cheers

RE: 4rKiN Paperwork

RE: 4rKiN Paperwork

How would you like to be in a relationship where the other person is bored all day long?
Would a red nose and tap dance shoes be required. laugh

RE: 4rKiN Paperwork

Probably CS didn't only allow the subject "bored".

It would be too boring. grin

RE: Black and White

Treaties with native tribes were to be inconspicuously broken.

Colonization was meant to civilize. Translated it is a way to invade another country where people enjoyed freedom.
Freedom to hunt, raise a family, practice customs and beliefs.

It was a way to teach them greed and servitude. In doing so, they also learned about taxes, work and the eradication of their own language and religion.

The same events happened around the world:
1- Impose your will with modern warfare.
2- Sign a treaty where you are given rights to your own land.
3- Break the treaty.
4- Keep the natives into abject poverty through laws and intimidation.

The irony is, in this instance, that the Queen of England grant protection to the natives.grin

cheers

RE: It's all down hill from here...I hope

Hi Ru, handshake

You mentioned C. F. Goldie in another post.

It reminded me of 2 movies I saw.

Utu, which I like but a little fantasist.

Once Were Warriors, which is a good movie.

You may wonder why I like these movies, you have to understand that over here movies from NZ are less known. Except Lord of the Ring, showing the nice landscape.

I learned something from your part of the world today.
Thank you.
cheers

RE: Don't Complain

Hi Tim, handshake

You are right about the first part.

But compromise is an inherent part of life, not only ambitions.

You'll find out that it is a big part of successful relationship

Boban,

This is a card I have for 45 years. From the flag, I believe it represents Serbians. Don't know the author.
I put it on the web for you to see. If you want to download a larger picture, take out the _2 in the address bar and reload.

RE: I know I bore you with all this lol

Hi Checkers, handshake

Citizen of any country are not always in concordance with their government policies.
It doesn't make everyone in these countries bad or intolerant. The one who hate are not always the perfect one in their motivations and reminiscing on past glory and culture, doesn't contribute anything.
But, in the greater context of life, who cares.

Germans are nice people, but like everywhere, there is an occasional oddball.

Wish you a nice stay in Germany and enjoy the time spent with your spouse there.
thumbs up
