RE: Aluminum Poured Into A Ant Hill

Looks best on fire ant nests. Never get water near molten aluminum. It leveled a whole plant in Tennessee.
I couldnt upload the video, but folks consider it a type of sculture.

RE: Mercury.....

The expression mad as a hatter came from hatters using mercury to process animal hides I believe.
Many artists suffered premature death and insanity? from deadly pigments. The fumes are super dangerous, something to worry about even today.

Most fire deaths are from fumes not the fires heat.

The first Chinese emperor is buried in a huge tomb with rivers of mercury. Still unopened.
2000 years of fumes!

RE: Rude messages

It sounds diseased and "premature" to me. laugh

RE: what art do you like ?

Old masters, impressionists, post impressionists. I used to try to imitate their techniques. Now I try to work in contemporary painting and sculpture which is all over the place in ideas and aesthetics.

RE: Audio Quest speaker cables: $14 000

I see this all the time when books go out of print. Why do vendors do this?

RE: Obama Administration: Are You for It Or Not? Why?

Sorry to hear about Conrad hope he gets well soon. But I agree about Bush and the sad state the country was left in.

RE: Where have all the good guys gone?

Networking, good contacts esp. in a male (for a female) environment, makes a huge difference.

RE: The price of being sick

I dont need to tell you to watch out for the bald face hornets and black widows in all that brush, but ill mention it anyway. Best wishes.

RE: If I sleep, do you exist?

Forty years ago a math major told me philosophy was ridiculous. "If a tree falls in the woods and no one hears it, does it make a sound? " "Thats ridiculous" she said. I thought about Zen and semantics but I couldnt really argue with her.

RE: Fractals and Daesh

Tell me when you can predict the stock and commodities market, I could really use that!

RE: think twice before giving out your personal phone

He sounds so involved in scheduling and rescheduling he is probably mentaly ill. Consider yourself lucky.

if you just get stood up, or have problems with occassional cancels, thats probably a player.

RE: does it cost anything to reply when emailed

I rarely email on CS forums. On any site I just send a very brief hello note. The big sites in U.S. are like musical chairs. I consider no response equivalent to "I dont know". Just because they respond doesnt guarantee Ill request a date or meeting anyway.

RE: so will it be Pacquiao or Mayweather?

I think Pacqs brawler style will give him an advantage. An ability to move inside and counter Mayweather's superior boxing. Pacq is most vulnerable to the one punch knockout artist.

RE: A test is underway to prove multi dimensions

I had the understanding under relativity that if you experienced time as a photon you would experience the beginning to the end of the universe as one moment in time. Is this right?

RE: why all the fake profiles

Kens touched on most of the cons.laugh
Problem is it makes some of us paranoid and start to see stuff that aint there.

RE: He's baaaack

The track by the battery looks like a coyote track to me. I saw one just outside d.c about 3am near a 7 11 about 10 years ago! When I mentioned it I got a lot of smart questions like what brand of cigarette was it smoking. Now the county has videos of coyote!

Around the Potomac the game wardens have seen a pack of coywolves, crossbreeds,

RE: the interview

Interesting theory, but Sony would have to be desperate. Some say North Korea seems to have gone from a minnow in hacking ability to a tiger shark overnight. Dear leader has been accusing us of Acts of war weekly for years. Now he creates a crisis over a lame movie? I wonder if Putin would stage this just to get leverage in an approaching cold war?

RE: what a joke

If you dont believe me I should be able to show you proof goiing back to 84. I was in land development and commercial construction in several of our largest cities. I was also in public works , major subway etc. In 90s and everyone had huge labor groups that took cash pay and couldnt speak a word of English.

RE: what a joke

Kingshak is a great fan of Fox.rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Changing your worldview of the Universe

Speaking of color and spin, I saw where an artist left a camera, lens open, in a deserted theatre while a movie played, begining to end, on a large screen. The resulting photo showed the movie screen as a glowing white light!

It made me wonder if reality isnt more like a glowing light than the segments we percieve.

Anyway quantum physics shows how little we know about our world.
wow

RE: When you believe...

Its not how big your army is, its how you use it. laugh

im more the assymetric warfare type anyway.

RE: Security & Reality

Wealth and corporations control Washington. The voters are the ones responsible. Forget Congressional salaries, its lobbies and pacs that put congressmen in office. I see where the great reformer and Conservative Eric Cantor has gone to work with Goldman Sachs. I didnt know he was a top Wall Street financial expert. I thought he was bit of a hick actually.

RE: I killed The Black Widow

When I was six I had two female black widows in my insect collection, mounting pins cigar box and lots of ceepy bugs. Put a stick in her web nest and she will run right up it to do you in. My dad tapped it on a large jar and she fell right in.

RE: Fading of a hobby

I believe the great recession , ten or even thirty years of near 0% inflation, the destruction of the American middle class, all have really hurt low to middle high value collectables. Some extremely rare stamps and coins have done well though. In the inflationary 70s anything considered a stamp was a good investment!laugh

I saw an appraiser on tv comment on a collectible he said he could of gotten 500$ for 20 years ago because it was hard to find. Now because of the world wide internet its easy to find and worth 20$laugh

RE: Rottie to the Rescue...

My cat would rattle the storm door all night if she wanted in. If the house was on fire she would just watch and snicker.
