RE: United States Military

This is my rifle,
this is my gun,
This is for shootin,
This is for fun.

The drill instructor of a Marine buddy, in Vietnam era, didn't like bigly someone calling their rifle a gun. He had several ways of putting a quick stop to it.

FRAUDIT!!!!!

RE: United States Military

I think it's inappropriate when someone is honoring our soldiers who gave their lives, like Atomicdeb, to try to turn her blog into a cheap political ploy.
Especially denigrating a new President who represents our Country.

THANKYOU DEB, for honoring America's finest.

RE: Hillary's comment about 1/2 of Trump supporters being a "basket of deplorables" wasn't harsh enough

There is still plenty of anger simmering against Trump. It wont turn in to apathy next November. Future events will feature bigly one way or another.

@Mr.BO

"The future is not now"-me.

RE: Hillary's comment about 1/2 of Trump supporters being a "basket of deplorables" wasn't harsh enough

@M
Im surprised the Dems have a 1 in 3 odds rating. Huge likelihood the incumbent Party in Whitehouse will lose seats in House and Senate.

The Coatails vs. Anger theories will definitely be Anger this time.

"The stronger the presidential victory margin or the more seats won in the presidential year and therefore 'at risk,' the greater will be the subsequent midterm seat loss."
Another reason: the so-called "presidential penalty," or the tendency of more voters to go the polls only when they are angry. If more angry voters vote than do satisfied voters, the president's party loses."

But there will be plenty of anger this time on both sides.

RE: Hillary's comment about 1/2 of Trump supporters being a "basket of deplorables" wasn't harsh enough

Yeah, I wanna see how many Bernie Bros. vote for Trump or Republican. Maybe go to a rally in a phone booth somewhere? Do they still have any?

RE: Hillary's comment about 1/2 of Trump supporters being a "basket of deplorables" wasn't harsh enough

But... But ... Mr.Bo ...... can't you just send somemore money to poor Mr. Trump? I hear his future and finances are in a deplorable state!crying blues

RE: Trolling and the Dark Triad

The bloggers who scream the loudest about trolls quickly avoided the forums because they discovered doh
they could delete any comments they wanted to.
What is an honest post or dishonest, fair or unfair, inflammatory and argumentative or unifying can be determined entirely by the blogger. Just press the delete button.
The MODS can judge bans as they see fit. They can also determine spam, harrasment, on their own.
A real troll is someone who constantly harrases people with no sense or purpose. Not someone you disagree with or have paranoid fantasies about.

RE: Somewhat limiting the power of future US presidents

A President is very dependant on a number of key people. The difference is obvious when you compare the two Bushes and the two Iraq wars. Trump's initial ideas of who he would choose developed into a comedy of idiocy. He had no vision or knowledge of who to choose for leadership positions.
He accomplished his major Republican goal- a huge tax cut for the richest 1 %.

RE: Somewhat limiting the power of future US presidents

It will be an interesting topic in the future I believe. It would also explain the deep animosity Trump had for the entire Intelligence service .

His deep hostility towards China ( about four months before Covid it changed dramatically) and sycophant relation to Putin at the same time was bizarre .

RE: Somewhat limiting the power of future US presidents

"But in Peril, Milley is also quoted speaking with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi after Jan. 6 about the need to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Trump from office before his term ends. According to the book, Milley cites the president's "mental decline," and Pelosi uses the term "crazy." In this account, the two are clearly worried that Trump will attempt some use of his power as commander in chief in a last-ditch effort to keep Biden from being inaugurated on Jan. 20"

"The unanswered question of our time: Is Trump an agent of Russia?
Neither Mueller nor the FBI took it on. It’s crucial someone does. This is a case for super-secret mole hunters"

RE: Excellent article from The Los Angeles Times regarding General Milley.

@Merc Good point, he needs to stay a nothing burger. I think Trump will remain a source of shame and incompetence to Republicans for generations.

RE: i have a bedroom

I had a house that was really old earlier- I never worried at night about locks. The hardwood flooring and stairs squeaked like a hundred burglar alars.

RE: Barking dog.

My neighbor hasd 2 large great danes. When they barked you could hear them half a block away- when they were inside his house.

RE: Snakes season is here.

A Australian member of CS showed some pictures of her gently throwing some beached sea snakes back in the surf. They were one of the most venomous snakes known. Banded sea kraits- they very rarely bite.

Another CS blogger from South Africa (he wasn't well) showed pictures of some Cape Cobras that were nesting in his house. He isnt on here now.
