Well, what I find interesting is that just like news papers only sell things with certain Headlines... so must the blogs. I read a really good blog today Usha did. Talked perfect sense on it and I thought was a great blog.. that only got a very few comments. Maybe it was not controversial enough for many. I personally am not into drama ...(well unless it is a crime drama ... like NCIS etc) I like the fun blogs BUT having said that.. I do peek on at the beginning to see who is commenting but then get tired of checking up after awhile as comments often seem to be going round in circles.
But each to their own..It takes all sorts to make up the blogs and thats what makes it interesting
I think some may see humility as a weakness... But many of the people I know as being very humble are also among the strongest people I know. They are often people without guile also that look for good in people and always strive to see the positive. Willing to learn and would not speak unkindness.. These are strong qualities to attain. It's nothing to do with people being able to take advantage of you.
Hi Loulou, I fear some would sooner lose a friend than an argument. I also question a lot of times these so called debates (that some may say are healthy: ... they are more like all round boxing matches to see who cam knock each other down first Very sad Like you said if we each looked at our own behaviour and also recognize and acknowledged our own faults and that someone else MIGHT JUST have a point... then it would be a happier place to be.
Humility is a wonderful gift to possess... something we should all seek after as with humility comes the wisdom. Humility is a great teacher.
Hi Ed, No I did not know that.. about Ancient of Days. I would not want to be disrespectful in anyway and neither would my son ... I will maybe ask him to rephrase that.
My son calls me "ancient of Days!" Thinks I am sooooo old! And was around in the Jurassic era! And that's just one of many fortunately most if the times it's just fun pet names
Edd, thank you for sharing these lovely thoughts with us. Reading this touched my heart so much.
Families are a precious precious gift. As someone who loves her children and Grandchildren with all my heart I truly felt your experience and got a glimpse of the joy you shared with your daughter and also the love you have for your family. It was also lovely to hear how you spoke about your parents. Such an uplifting blog ... I hope you will have many more treasured times with your loved ones
Hi Calli, Personally I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion and respect their right to do so.
I actually wonder sometimes if some people argue for the sake of argueing. I've heard the statement "He/she would pick an arguement with themselves." I think this is true of some. I would leave that person well alone when in that frame of mind.
I have strong beliefs and would defend them if necessary but never at the expense of pulling someone else down. If we feel a need to pull another down or try to belittle ...then I would say we ought to question our own convictions and motives.
