I loved our corner shops. They were always so friendly and the shop keepers knew everyone by name. I remember those scales etc. I remember our local shop when I was a kid and her name was Connie, can still remember her so well. Everything was in big jars too to weigh out.
I am someone who certainly thinks it is better to have loved and lost than to not have loved at all. My experience in marriage was a good and happy one though (till the very end) so I have many wonderful memories to recall. Not least of all my 3 children and grandchildren.
To feel that loved and complete is something very beautiful and there is nothing quiet like it.. to have someone who you feel complete and whole with. To know that person loves YOU more than another person on earth... is quiet a special feeling and vice versa.
The only down side, is you KNOW what you are MISSING
But life goes on.. and we go onto find beauty in other ways.
Watch out for the leprechauns.. They roam about all over! but heard they are very friendly
I have only been to Northern Ireland and Dublin but loved both. I will be going over late summer as my son is in Dublin for a few months ... Soooo looking forward to it.
Somebody once read, "It is ok to look ONCE as it is a natural reaction to see someone as beautiful or find someone attractive, we are not blind... It is the Looking TWICE that is a BIG... NO NO!"
Having said that I can honestly say in my 27/28 years of marriage I did not look at anyone else. Of course I could know someone else might be attractive but in my eyes only one held my heart.
Each of those qualities is a blog in and of itself as they cover so much. Relationships are built on these and will be strengthened for sure if we apply each one of them.
Thank you for sharing.. I can only say AMEN to it.
It was a wonderful day Fly, when the war was over and peace came back into our lands. So much devastation and sadness our mothers fathers and grandparents lived through. I read some of BC`s, memories of those awful days and it brought me to tears as she was a child when the war was going on. Of course she too came from Holland. Her story is something I think everyone should read. I MISS BC on the blogs and hope she is alright. Sending hugs to her.
So glad you can celebrate this day and remember and be grateful for those who fought for our freedom.
I pray that peace could reign throughout the world and that we would learn from the past.
I like to interact on the blogs too and often wish some of them was open as like you we can all learn from each other or just have fun with together. I do understand sometimes though that a blogger might just need to share something but may not at that time be up to having a conversation as such. It can all depend on how one may be feeling at that time and what they are sharing. A lot who have `No comments` at the moment usually do allow comments on their blogs and do good blogs too.
With all that rain Jim, that duck would feel well at home living at your house.. Do you have any drywalling needing doing?
Weather here was pretty miserable last week and Saturday and Sunday but the sun broke out yesterday and it turned a bit warmer again. Been a very up and down spring so far.. some lovely days and some days windy and cold. I actually thought it was snowing today as I could see all white things flying round outside and then realised it was an apple blossom tree about in my back shedding its lovely petals with the wind.. was relieved it was not snow
Hi there, I thought I would add my personal feelings on this. For me none of these 3 things can be bought nor given to by someone else. I believe others may enhance your happiness because of who they are and what they themselves radiate. They can bring happiness into your life but you can`t be dependant on it or once they have left the happiness would go with it. For me personally my true happiness, peace and serenity come from my deep believe in God and His Son Jesus Christ, from knowing who they are and that they love me and think I am of worth. From knowing who I am. When you have that you never have to rely on another person for your happiness. You find it within. My children and Grandchildren bring me great joy! But I was happy before they came into being.. they enhance my happiness. My ex and I are divorced, I loved him dearly, I was devastated!!! BUT it did not take away my peace and serenity. Once found it is something to always treasure and be grateful for. I hope you find it within your life as it is a true and wonderful blessing.
Well Nam, the mind boggles at some of our sayings . Maybe the world is a stage but the people on it are the audience. just a thought. . I most definitely agree that `Funny bone .. is NOT that funny . All I know is one day I want to `Die laughing`
Moud, Hope whilst you are on your own you can still have a HAPPY day ...

Happy Birthday to you Happy Birthday to you Happy Birthday dear Moud Happy Birthday to you.... AND MANY MORE!!!!! (that last line was the bass section!)
Well Nam, I just commented on poor Charles S. Blogs.. well being and sent him some flowers AND by the time I sent him a message.. He had GONE Has he being discharged?
AND didn`t you know Nam, guys are the biggest tormenters that is why we call those pesky bugs `Him`
I know Calli, I only reply to ones who make a comment on something to do with my profile as I know that 99% of people haven`t even read it... otherwise they wouldn`t say things they do. Just as well I aren`t looking for anybody... as most mail ends up in the delete box
Really feel a lot for people who are genuinly trying to find somebody..
Very poignant words Nighty, beautifully put together.
I too join with you in remembering the victims in Nepal, so very sad I understand that much aid has been sent there by many people. It is good to know that the world unites in helping those who we see in need.
May God bless each of the victims and their dear families.
Thank you for sharing this Nighty... special thoughts
