I hope you get counselling to help with your sadness and to get over crocodile. And anytime you're feeling down come on the blogs to talk or mail those that offered to speak to you privately.
@Luke I miss their presence on the blogs a lot. They were very intelligent and had a sense of humour. Can't say the same for the ones that got them banned. Seems people have to run to the MODS if they're in a disagreement instead of just sorting it out themselves or ignoring them if you don't like them.
@Freedomofspeech9 You have it all wrong. SR was never Jana/Ariel or Takemetofrance. Curious to know where you got your info from/how you came to that conclusion. What do they say about the word ASSume?
I know this because I spent a lot of time at the nursing home and could see the difference when those with dementia participated in the music therapy program or when music was played at a party. They may be sad and feeling agressive but as soon as the music played it lifted their spirits and they were happy, tapping their toes and singing along! Then they would start talking of old memories. It was nice to see them enjoying themselves. As for autistic children a friend of a friend has a child with severe autism that cannot communicate much but boy can she play the keyboard! You should youtube some vids on austic children. You would be amazed. And there have been studies done showing how music can help children with their learning. As Non noted Math is one of the major ones it helps.
Thanks Leah. You're sweet. I love your blogs as you're always searching for deeper meaning of things for which we can all learn. Btw, love your new pic!
You know a lot about music too and I also like chatting with someone who also shares the same passion!
After leaving my last comment I got thinking about some other things like the elderly who have dementia who benefit so much from music therapy. It brings them such joy and triggers memories from when they were young and of their beloved. Also how autistic children excel in music. It's amazing to hear them play. Two good examples of how music can really move you. And I can't believe how some schools wanted to take the music program out when it's clear how much it can help students in other areas of learning.
Just some more thoughts.
Thanks for your kind words. I hope you're doing well!
I have so many favourite songs I couldn't possibly list them! Music really touches my soul and makes me feel alive. It can bring out so many emotions in you. The best is when you're having a bad day and you hear a song that changes your mood and inspires you. I have a memory of just about every song I hear whether good or bad, thankfully mostly good. Music brings me a lot of joy, sometimes I just want to sing and dance my heart out when I hear a good tune even when I'm in public. Music has always been the thing that has kept me going in hard times. Music is my medicine or natural high.
I mostly like rock music, anywhere from the 50's right through to todays music but hard rock/grunge is my favourite. But I also don't mind a bit of rap, country, R&B Soul, pop, hip hop, reggae. I also don't mind some instrumental music though I don't go out of my way to listen to it. I can even appreciate music that I don't like if I can see how talented the person is! I cannot tell you how many rock concerts I've been to. I don't mind that Rihanna song. It's kinda hypnotic.
I do get put off with people who lip sync and don't play any instruments and use computers. They also care more about the image/hype than the music/artistry.
Both my parents were music lovers as well as my sister and my grandfather had a music degree and was an avid piano player though I never got to see him play as he passed away before I was born.
One thing I've never done is take up a musical instrument. I've always wanted to learn to play the guitar but the drums would be cool too! I was always told I had the hands for playing piano!
@Simmo Oh I don't know about that. I seem to have my haters too! Some people can't take it if you disagree with them or show them they've made a mistake when you meant no harm. You just have to think it's them not you!
As for meeting that sounds great Simmo! I would love to meet your lady! I hope all goes well.
@Cat When it happened to me, it was in other people's homes, not my own. I think it comes down to whether the place you visit/live leaves the lid up or down. As I said before most men are considerate so you often assume the seat is down and when it isn't then it happens. In your own home your girls knew the seat could possibly be up so they always checked for it. But when the seat is normally down you don't think to double check. But then, I guess I'm just 'utterly stupid' along with being a man hater. Funny, I never made any remarks to you of the sort and I can think of a few.
Drinking lemon water may be good for some health issues but if you drink it all the time it will gradually wear down tooth enamel because it's so acidic (turns alkaline when digested though). To help minimize this it's best to use a straw.
RE: HEY REAL MEN I AM ALREADY 28 YEARS I NEED GOOD HUB
@shahper @shahper As if you have the nerve to tell her to take her bathing suit pics off her profile! That's almost laughable!
