I was recently introduced to Eastern music...Sufi music and Sanskrit. I have been learning meditation and this music is absolutely beautiful.

I am like you, I like all genres of music.

They say music is the "universal language."
BEAUTIFUL.

This song by The Who always reminds me to remember the good times past.

music the universal language couldnt have said it better wise man you are taking up meditation something i think might be good for me good idea.
hey B&B nice new profile pic, good song thankyou for sharing
any music, whatever genre that comes from adversity, normally hits a nerve with the public.with the obvious exception of heavy metal, thats just gbh on the lugholewave
I highly encourage everybody to try meditation. From what I have been studying, a person can even heal themselves from major illnesses, that is aside from all the other benefits it provides.
@benni,
I disagree. People who trash any kind of music are not listening to the words. Personally I like some heavy metal. It has to speak to me. The words need to have meaning. Give it a try sometime.
ya,all heavy metal is deep , meaningful ,life altering stuff uh oh
hey benni from ireland whats a lughole frustrated
benni try tears dont fall by bullet for my valentine
lughole=ears.ill have ya speaking properly in no timelaugh
lol bennitongue
I am one of those weird people who consider music as mostly overrated noise. Listening to the words makes it most of the time even worse.
I do appreciate some music for a short period a couple of times a year. laugh
hello virgo how are you doing read you are not dying you have plenty years left your built to last
Hi Leah,

I have so many favourite songs I couldn't possibly list them! Music really touches my soul and makes me feel alive. It can bring out so many emotions in you. The best is when you're having a bad day and you hear a song that changes your mood and inspires you. I have a memory of just about every song I hear whether good or bad, thankfully mostly good. Music brings me a lot of joy, sometimes I just want to sing and dance my heart out when I hear a good tune even when I'm in public. laugh Music has always been the thing that has kept me going in hard times. Music is my medicine or natural high.

I mostly like rock music, anywhere from the 50's right through to todays music but hard rock/grunge is my favourite. But I also don't mind a bit of rap, country, R&B Soul, pop, hip hop, reggae. I also don't mind some instrumental music though I don't go out of my way to listen to it. I can even appreciate music that I don't like if I can see how talented the person is! I cannot tell you how many rock concerts I've been to. I don't mind that Rihanna song. It's kinda hypnotic.

I do get put off with people who lip sync and don't play any instruments and use computers. They also care more about the image/hype than the music/artistry.

Both my parents were music lovers as well as my sister and my grandfather had a music degree and was an avid piano player though I never got to see him play as he passed away before I was born.

One thing I've never done is take up a musical instrument. I've always wanted to learn to play the guitar but the drums would be cool too! I was always told I had the hands for playing piano!

Keep on rockin' Leah! head banger

Can i ask who or why are you feeling the same way as the lyrics suggest?
Being one of the few who have no idea of how to post a video, i cant respond with a clip. Sorry.moping
Hey leahkathrine.
I remember watching "Close encounters of the third kind" as a kid.
It was fascinated when the language of choice for first contact turned out to be music.
Music and maths share a very strange relationship,
and Modern quantum physics is greatly reliant on harmonics and resonance (music if you will) nerd wave
Yes, music can save your life, but we forget to put it on.
Its your best friend Leakathrine. It will never let you down.

Ok, well, Im your friend aswell. I wont let you down.
i listen to music every day, i usually dont even turn the t.v. on til the weekend. you have brought out a lot of good points in regards to what it can do for a person. not everyone will agree with the following quote, but it is one of my favorites. " without music, life would be a mistake." nietzsche

i am sure that the right person is closer to you than you think,
You deserve to have love in your life, and if music helps this, then that is great.
I could think of fewer things that i'd enjoy more than relaxing on a couch with the women that i love beside me listening to music.
Sharing togetherness.
I hope you know, that i wish you nothing but the best.
hug kiss
I am sure someone is looking for your broken pieces to put them all back together.
Hi my music sister!

You know a lot about music too and I also like chatting with someone who also shares the same passion!

After leaving my last comment I got thinking about some other things like the elderly who have dementia who benefit so much from music therapy. It brings them such joy and triggers memories from when they were young and of their beloved. Also how autistic children excel in music. It's amazing to hear them play. Two good examples of how music can really move you. And I can't believe how some schools wanted to take the music program out when it's clear how much it can help students in other areas of learning.

Just some more thoughts.

Thanks for your kind words. I hope you're doing well!

I'll try to come around more often. Take care!
Leah, since I can't email you. At least not on here, I hope you haven't blocked me from your real email, and have read what I had to say. But, in case you didn't read it. I'll sum it up in 4 words:

I'M SORRY FOR EVERYTHING.
U r as right as tonight....sleep
mr porter

it is alright thankyou for your apology i am alos sorry for things i have said to you,
lol wow you cut your hair it's a nice look for you your face looks brighter and the hair cut has brought the color of your eyes you look very nice
I am one of those that can't litterely live WITHOUT MUSIC. Music turns me on ,up ,driffels and puts me back again in my place. I am a 80's guy and been grew up with those kind of music, but I do luv also R&B and some foreign music's like orientals.

Music it's a way to me to be far from all the up's and down's of life and it certainatly it does turn my mood from negative to positive ( not often the other way round ).

Thx for sharing the music and by far one of the best music of Rihanna apart from Umbrella ( I thought that was awesome too ).

( Alexandro )
hey Leakathrine, just saw your pic up close now, you are really beautiful hey.
Mchaaaaaa.
@Leah

I know this because I spent a lot of time at the nursing home and could see the difference when those with dementia participated in the music therapy program or when music was played at a party. They may be sad and feeling agressive but as soon as the music played it lifted their spirits and they were happy, tapping their toes and singing along! Then they would start talking of old memories. It was nice to see them enjoying themselves. As for autistic children a friend of a friend has a child with severe autism that cannot communicate much but boy can she play the keyboard! You should youtube some vids on austic children. You would be amazed. And there have been studies done showing how music can help children with their learning. As Non noted Math is one of the major ones it helps.

Thanks Leah. You're sweet. I love your blogs as you're always searching for deeper meaning of things for which we can all learn. Btw, love your new pic!

Take care.

Good Morning Beautiful, by Steve Holy. Great song, very romantic. The first time I heard it, I was dating someone, and I sang it to her. It was like magic. Both of our feelings got stronger.
good song shy guy
Hi leahkathrine, there was a song that I hold dear to my soul and that I used to collaborate with a wonderful poet.
Here's the link to our collaboration and the music video link is under the poetry which I love very much ;) wine
