man can overfish. but here pollution, water works and traffic are much worse than fishing. In the Rhine the Salmon was still abundant a century ago but extinct in the meantime. With enormous efforts some are coming back now in some tributaries.
There are harsh laws and penalties for fishing without licence but destroying the fish by industry is for free!
I like fishing but there is not much opportunity for it here. We did have more dead fish in the creek than caught fish. And it is regulated, too. Not free.
France (or french people) have much less against nuclear power stations, though nuclear power can devastate vast areas and it is not cheap if u calculate all costs. it is much easier to use the wind and there is a lot of it in and above France. I think the members of the Club of Rome are fools. they have been proofed wrong in many cases.
