The fact is .......most conservatives address ALL social services as "welfare entitlements" and typically suggest they all be done away with. That steriotypical suggestion is just an ignorant attempt of association with political conservatism. It's wishful hypocracy and arrogant onmipotence.......
It's interesting ..........Republicans think that anyone who isn't like them is a "far left liberal", and their "self-righteousness" allows them to believe they are "entitled" to cheap gasoline, ignorance of ecology, and no taxes .......
Unfortunately .....We're ( USA ) too busy with shutting our government down, cutting all entitlements....medicare....Obamacare....social security....and all other broken budgets, and invading Libya .......to have time for Japan's disasters ......

Galrads, while I truly do share your frustration....I do believe we all have some shared responsibility to support education in our society. Education is so key to America remaining in the forefront of science and productivity - which we all benefit from. Unfortunately the USA education system is in dire need of re-vamping to shed the incredible waste and allocate it back to benefiting our kids. The real frustration is in hearing the "entitlement" of aristocratic educators who believe they should be highly adorned with even more salary. It simply isn't true that more pay buys better teachers.
