Convert me to what? I am quite happy being athiest and let everyone live in peace. I certainly don't knock on your door and try to convert you to being an atheist. To each his own I say.
I find it interesting that Religous people can advertise on tv, billboards, approach you in the streets, or haress you on the phone and that is okay. Just recently some of the Atheists here but a small sign on a bus saying "There's probably no God, now stop worrying enjoy life". The religous fanatics demanded the sign be pulled down. It went to the courts and was overturned as its called the right to free speach. So where is the tolerance of the religous types? Aren't they supposed to turn the other cheek?
Rude is when there is name calling. I have no problem with someone being honest but there are tactful ways to be honest without being rude. Being labeled as a killer was quite rude to me or saying that I deserved to be beaten by a man was quite rude too.
If you mean treat everyone nice, I agree. Over the last few days, I have seen some rather nasty Christians attack me personally and professionally. Being nice to one should not have anything to do with Religion, it should be from your heart. If we could do that, our world would be a much better place to live in.
Well, we Canadians like to share. I think its said its better to give than receive, so we want to give you our snow rather than receive it.
I took a few days off the forums as I was being personally and professionally attacked. It was a bit much but my wonderful friends from Malta and Australia urged me to come back and not take what these yahoos said to me to heart. I have had a rather rough year and honestly don't know how I got through it but here I am strong and healthy, so life is good.
Well said. My friends always say that when I walk into a room, I catch everyone's attention. There are way more beautiful women there but there is something about me that captures their attention. That makes me feel good about who I am and yes there I say attractive.
I don't think that is what he is trying to say. Its how we perceive ourselves. If I am going around thinking I am unattractive then it damages my self esteem. So if I am with a guy and I don't think much of myself whether it be looks or otherwise, of course the guy won't want to be with me. We are all initially attracted to that person's looks and it doesn't have to be drop dead good looking but its what we find attractive.
If I beleived that I was the most attractive girl out there then that would make me very vain. I believe I am a good woman and would be a good catch for a man. After all beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
It has just happened to me before. Hey, I don't begrudge a guy who finds a more attractive woman; after all he wants to be happy but just call. I may be hurt but I will go over it. As you say, I can't beat myself up over it.
No you are not annoying me at all. After all its just a discussion about our personal experiences. Yes I always call or have him call me before we meet; then doesn't show up. I call to find out why, but he won't answer. I always thought that maybe he found someone else more attractive after he made the date with me but didn't respect me enough to break it. Who knows why they do this?
I give out my cell number not my home phone. Yes, I agree you have to keep trying but I have learned not to get my expectations up. When a guy says he will meet for coffee, I sure hope he does show up but if he doesn't I don't sweat it anymore. These are the games these guys like to play. I realize it is only a few bad apples but it happens far to frequently. I am not ready to give up, but certainly am a whole lot more cautious.
Of course its rude, but to some people it is just a game; all in good fun to them. So, you do one to two things, you shut yourself down and stop dating, or you risk that chance again. Not a lot of options. I just realize that the person wasn't worth the effort in the first place and certainly don't beat myself up over it. That unfortunately is life.
I guess we all look at dating differently. I beleive in being direct with the person and they should be with me. Other than that, its just wasting my time that could be better spent elsewhere.
Yes, when a man tells you he is really interested in you and wants to meet you. You then say of course and he changes his mind or he just stands you up. Do you not think that a game?
Why does it have to be a game? We are not teenagers and dating at our age should not be a game. We are at the age that we should know what we are looking for. I don't think its a game when you are playing with someone's emotions; that is down right cruel.
There are unfortunately lots of game players here but also offline as well. Do not take it personally. If these guys are playing these head games, do you really want them in your life? Just know that you can do better and don't let them get to you. You deserve better.
Yeah, this is so true. I feel for those that suffer because of the meaness of others and yet people call me a Grinch or scrooge. I would never do anything to spoil anyone's holiday.
I thank you for your kind words and support. These men attack me because they are scared of strong women and they are quite insecure. I am smart enough to know that they are the exception and not the norm. I have found your responses on the forums to be very insightful and very polite. When ladies read these forums, they will know that you indeed do not represent these men. Thanks again for the support.
