Yep...that's why I don't do it. I'll make friends and flirt, but I'm not looking for a LDR.
Funny, Ship isn't in one now...but he will be if he continues his current one after his move! (Sorry, Ship...I just couldn't help but mention that thought as it occurred to me! )
Nope, I've never tried it. I've considered it, but the fact that I'm not in a position to move makes me re-think it. And very few men are willing to move. They've usually got the better paying job.
Awesome thread, Wall! Yes, I left the City of Regret a long time ago, and I've never regretted it. I live nearby you, on IT'S UP TO ME street. It's an amazing feeling to have that baggage lifted from your shoulders...and the lessons you learn in Starting Again sure help you get through any other tough times.
However, watch that IM on here. A lot of us have it turned off because it freezes the system. Others use it w/o problems. So, hope you meet a lot of people, and forums are a great way to meet people from around the world and have fun. We laugh, we cry, we comfort each other, and we talk about a wide variety of things.
I had one who called me after not seeing him for a couple of years. He was getting out of the Army and coming home, and wanted to come visit me. I said, "sure". Yep...feelings still there. It was a wonderful weekend. I was in college at the time, so on break I went up to Buffalo to see him. I won't forget that last time, and it's been 24 years...but, that weekend he asked me to move up to Buffalo and move in with him...as a friend. Just a friend. We'd date other people. I've never spoken to him or seen him since.
If I saw him now those feelings would probably still be there, though. It was a fire/ice relationship for a long time. When we were together, everyone was happy. When we weren't, people cleared the hallways and stairwells. I think it would still be that way with us, so it would never have worked long term.
The ones with me in the sweatshirt and my tat pics are from February or March of this year, and the ones in the blue t-shirt are only a couple of months old now. They were taken right before I posted them on here.
Keep in mind my screen name fits my beliefs, so this really has nothing to do with religion. I don't believe in heaven per se...but I do believe that animals also have souls. Yes, I love this for the thought that a beloved pet would accompany you, and that if there was a heaven, pets would be allowed in.
You're welcome! It was a longer and more beautiful version than I had seen before, that's why I wanted to share it here. I know that there are a lot of animal lovers on here. I would never leave my furries behind if they appeared.
Kids today have a sophisticated vocabulary...but "inappropriate" sounds like a word planted there by someone else saying it first. She probably originally said that he "patted my bottom", and he was told it was "inappropriate behavior", then she mimicked that. Kids are great mimicks, too.
As he walked down the road he came to another gate, just an old rail fence with a man, who, for the most part, looked like a farmer, sitting on it wearing an old straw hat, a stem of grass between his lips. Just off the road on the other side of the gate was a well.
"Hello" he said to the farmer. "May I enter here and get a bucket of water from your well? My dog is awfully thirsty." "Of course you may. You and your dog are both welcome here." He walked through the gate and proceeded to lower the bucket into the well. "Where am I?" he asked the farmer "Son, you've reached the gates of heaven." "Really? Are you sure? That man back there said that was the gate of heaven?" "OH Yes, I know who you mean. He tells everyone that, but you know son - 'The devil is a liar.' And do you think God would ever let anyone reach the real gates of heaven who was willing to leave his best friend in life alone and thirsty by the side of the road?"
RE: I finally found it....
Ummm...how about Herkimer diamonds? I actually prefer a lot of stones to either Zirconia or real diamonds. Jade is one of my faves!Congrats on the good find, Paws!
