Not sure about that, i find hurtling down a snow covered mountainside right on the edge of my skis to be the ultimate in pure excitement.
However, free climbing surely is one of the most physically and mentally demanding sports a person can partake in. The rewards to the 'self' are immense.
To quote your thread langleygirl 'it makes me sad' that you feel this way.
But like i said, there are all types on here and to expect it to be any other is perhaps a bit naive. Like you said, youve laughed like crazy on here, well maybe we just have to take the rough with the smooth. Anyway, i wish you all the best and hope that maybe you have a change of heart and hang around for some more laughs.
If you intend spending anytime in the north during your visit, maybe Leeds might be a good place to visit. Its pretty central and has become arguably the best city outside London for restaurants and clubs, although much the same could be said for Manchester. My advice would be, dont miss the Highlands of Scotland, not perhaps the best time of the year right now but worth a visit with Glasgow on route. I suppose it depends what your looking for. Anyway, i hope you enjoy your visit.
My son phoned me last night to say he wouldnt be in work (we work together) because he was going to St Lucia for the weekend. Even though the complete package including a 4 star hotel is costing him just £75, an eight hour flight seems too much to me for just a weekend.
How far would you/have you travelled for a weekend jaunt?
I suppose it depends on the individuals involved. One of my ex lovers is a very good friend to me, almost like a sister and has been for over 12 years. Another one who has now moved to Ireland is in touch with me on a regular basis and we split up 22 years ago. My last relationship ended about ten years ago and i visit her and her husband quite often. So i guess a friendship can survive a broken relationship.
RE: Who are you?
I'm sure for some it does.
