No Trish, John lost one of his fingers the same way about two years ago, you dont know this guy. Kinda wish Andi or Jay had of been around but they were both out. If they had of heard the guys screams, they would definately take more care on our saws in the future.
Thanks nuala, fortunately the ambulance arrived pretty quickly as he was losing a lot of blood. I'm sure he will be ok and maybe they can save his hand. But he's in for months of pain and discomfort, for just a brief lack of concentration. One of the other incidents i mentioned left the guy minus four fingers, this one looks even worse.
This is for those of you that use power tool, especially circular saws.
Ive just come home from work with the crys of agony ringing in my ears. A friend in the joinery shop next to us has just lost his hand in an accident with a circular saw. This is the third such accident this year alone i have witnesed with these machines and it usually happens when user is distracted. Not being one to preach, but if you are using one of these machines,
Thank you, i am lucky, we are very close and i count my blessings. Especially, when a customer says to one of my lads, i've just been talking to your brother over there...and points at me.
My sons are 33 and 31, we have a family business so we are constantly helping each other out. In fact, role reversal comes into play quite often, i was given a ticking off only the other day by my youngest. But at the end of the day, i'm Dad, and they still come to me for advice should they need it, and i'm sure that will always be the case.
