RE: YOUR VIEW.....

The bbc denied this and said there was no record of it.

A copy has since turned up on utube.

RE: ~Measurement Systems! Help!

Great idea, i can just see my cutting list
for tomorrow.

1 big piece of glass
1 bigger
1 huge
1 humongous

Will try that in the workshop see what the cutter
makes of it.
Mind you, with the new bloke we have now, he
will probably just ask...

is that metric or imperial?

RE: ~Measurement Systems! Help!

True, but i still want my beer in a pint glass.

RE: ~Measurement Systems! Help!

Fortuantely we got rid of that system in favour
of metric in 1970.
Not suprising really, could you imagine having
to deal with.....

£1 5s 81/2d + £3 17s 43/4d - 19s11d

A typical problem you might have found in
a school exam...or everyday life for that
matter.
No wonder us 'older ones' have no problems
with our calculations.
Mind you, the same applies to measurements.

Imperial system..... 1ft 711/16ths + 1ft 115/8ths =?

or...... 500mm + 600mm = 1100mm

Even more difficult, try to work out the square ft......??????

Metric....0.3 sq mtre

Why does anyone still use imperialconfused

RE: What is your passion in life?

Rock climbing has always been my greatest
passion since a boy.
But anything in the hills, be it skiing, mountain
biking or just walking the dog.... the great
outdoors does it for me.

RE: Planning

If you like to get off the beaten track and
want a bit of adventure.
Try The Green Tortoise Tours.
They are based in San Francisco, well worth
a look.

RE: good news bad news

Went to the dentist last week.

He said, " good news, your teeth are fine,
but the bad news, your gums have had it"

blues

Reminds me of the guy who went into
hospital for an operation on his legs.
After the op the doctor came to see him.

"its good news and bad news" he said,
"im afraid we've had to amputate both
your legs"

"Oh no" the man replied,
"whats the good news then"

" the man in the next bed wants to buy
your slippers"

If someone asks you to reply to their email on first contact,
they are most likely to be scammers.

RE: Do men

Well, i guess i could do with a woman,
