I fully agree with you. I know Canadians and Americans have a very rate of obesity. I watch kids about from 9 to 12 waddle accross the street. Its these damm fast food places and 7 elevens. I see the kids at 7 elevens stuffing their faces with chips, chocolates, chicken wings, etc. Then they go home and play computer games; its not a surprise they are overweight. Do you know that we are widening airplane seats, theatre seats, and making larger stretchers for the obese? All that money could be used to educate people on eating healthy. I know smokers pay high premiums for health insurance, I think that people who are overweight should too. I am not talking about people with gland problems or real medical problems that can't lose weight but those that feel they need to supersize their meals and just don't exercise. I too feel for the countries that can't afford to eat properly and are starving to death.
We have a drink called Moosemilk here in Canada. Its icecream, milk, Kahula, dark rum, and white run. Tastes good but can't drink much as it really bloats you.
I don't know about San Francisco, but the Fire department are always the quickest to respond here in Calgary and they always have trained paramedics. Our health care is supposed to be the best in the world which is not true. I had a crippling accident and was told I just had a sprain. Most Canadians have extended health care as our Government only pays the cost of an exam and normally there is a 4 to 8 hour wait to see a doctor. No hospitals, no medications, and no physio. Makes no sense to me. So, I keep myself healthy and fit so I don't need to see the doctor.
Christmas is just like any other weekend day. No big deal as I don't celebrate it anyways, so don't mind being alone. Don't know why people make such a big deal out of it.
You took the words right out of my mouth. Every thread its one negative thing afer another with this guy. At first I was trying to help him with suggestions but now I see he just wants to pity himself. Oh well, its his choice. Me, I am going out to have fun and keep my options open.
You asked what made me decide to meet him. We chatted online and he seemed like a real great guy. Then we talked on the phone. Yes, he is far away from me but comes into Calgary once a week, so I will get some time to know him. Our first date went extremely well. He is a real sweetheart and extremely kind. I will take it day by day and see where it goes. I figure its worth the try. He has already mentioned he wants me to move to Vancouver, so I certainly would relocate. I really loved BC when I lived there and I was planning on moving back in the Spring. I just have to finish some renos and getting rid of stuff before the move.
I have kept my resolutions for the last three years so I am on a roll. Mine is to move to another province and live the life I was meant to live rather than staying where I am and be unhappy.
I always respond to flowers or emails; unless the emails are rude; then I block them. Even if I am not interested in the person, I take the curtosey of thanking them but telling them politely that I am not interested.
Thanks. It would be nice story for this forum. We are meeting again next Saturday as he comes into Calgary once a week. Way I figure, it doesn't hurt to try. Better than sitting at home feeling sorry for myself because I can't find someone here in Calgary.
Again, I can't see the problem with the height but do see a problem with a guy that can't hold down a job. Lived with one and I had to pay all the bills; almost went broke.
I think that is good advice and this is exactly what I am doing. Just had breakfast with a guy from another province; about 12 hours away. We seem to hit it off but time will tell. I too have a house, but if he is the right guy for me, I would gladly relocate. Its better than being here alone in Calgary.
Hi scoutmaster. Meant to answer you earlier but I took ill. Guess I have a bad reaction to sugar/chocolate. I too haven't been treated well by a few men. I know there are game players on this site but its just not the ladies like Michael says. It does seem most of the nice guys I meet are married as well. I know one guy that is a real sweetheart but his wife treats him terribly. She is bossy, demanding, and lazy. He just smiles and takes care of her. Now there is a loving husband. In my opinion, she doesn't deserve him but who am I to judge. I guess as long as they are happy that is all that matters.
All that sounds so yummy and so fattening. I used to make chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies. I also loved rumballs but now I stay away from all that. Damn I miss that sugar rush.
If I knew the answer I wouldn't be here on CS. Our society has changed so much. It seems relationships are more complicated and more marriages end up in divorce. I don't think we can simplify this to any one cause. I know in my case I meet a lot of divorced guys that are very bitter and take it out on me; yet they have asked me out for a date. I think if they are that angry with women; then don't date and waste my time. Most guys don't think I am pretty enough to date as they want a young blonde bimbo; guess to each his own. Its just as well why would I date someone that shallow? And of course like you said money. It does go both ways as for example when I lost my job, my boyfriend dumped me. All we can do is keep trying and keep the dream alive. No point being depressed or feeling sorry for ourselves as that accomplishes nothing.
RE: National health care dead!
