If the surrogate pregnancy is a medical compulsion then it may be right but if it is something else then definitely wrong.

Self awareness is a very big and deep thing. When the feelings/emotions flare up, then the equanimity of the mind is broken and the self-awareness ends. mind is reactive natured, that's why it is difficult to keep equanimity in mind.

Well, it is human nature to judge, but sometimes by some reason, human becomes judgmental. Nobody is perfect, so it is natural to make mistakes.
If this mistake happens only sometimes then "it's ok", but if it becomes a habit to judge things wrongly every time, then it is prudent to keep distance from such a judgemental person.
Sometimes keeping silence is better than instant reaction. Let the mind calm down, then judge again with a calm mind and things will make better sense.
it should be response not reaction. Response emerges from a calm mind and reaction emerges from a disturbed mind.
