Going by the poll, the sub 40yo's love body art and the over 40yo's hate it. One thing it has shown me is the older gen is either mild in their taste or they grow out of the self adornment with art stage somewhere along the way
I've always thought there should be an Australia card to limit your alcohol, smokes, gambling when buying the chips, using the pokies, etc... maybe 10 - 20% of your income can go on these vices so as to leave your family with some money for their needs instead of our wants. Maybe even to limit the sugars and takeaway we can buy in a day so as not to become over weight, you could get bonus points for takeaway for exercise at a gym. lol I know it's all fanciful, but some people as we know have no control over their addictions and need a little extra help.
The calming effect of having a drag, the only proven effect it has is when you deeply inhale and exhale, breath in breath out, now relax. Other than the heavy breathing they're bad for you, but people will defend their cancer sticks til the cows come home as they're too weak to quit.
firstly the mining Co's don't own the rail lines, QR does. with out the rail capacity which is usually so many million tons a day, we don't export, no export no import. No import, no cheap asian crap. ie: we have to sell stuff o/seas to be able to buy from o/seas. Those smaller co's you're talking of other than some agriculture don't export. For sure they have been affected and their workers are out of a job for the short term and that's bad, but not exporting our major export commodity is even worse to all of our bottom lines.
If you've ever been with a smoker whose lung capacity is shot and who has smokers cough, you'll know what I'm talking about. cough cough wheeez wheeez sorry love, not enough wind in the ol' cancerous lungs to go the distance I'm sorry, maybe next time.
What's more important, your precious internet speeds ie: NBN billions? Or getting the engine wheels of our major export income - coal back on the rails? It's the only thing other than iron ore that's kept this country from going backwards like the rest of the world has with the GFC. We were actually a country that was making income to buy imports rather than using credit to fund purchases. The sooner we get the exports happening, the better off we will all be. If that requires a levee, so be it, short term pain for long term gain.
It's really a sign of our times. twice thrice quadruple times married. You never heard of it happening to your parents, aunts and uncles. Todays throwaway society and its morals. Married til death do us part counts for nothing as the people making these vows fail to mention their escape clause
Yeah, put a levee on everyones power bill, I got a letter from my provider informing me that they're putting my power up by 15% on the 1st Feb. This wouldn't have been happening if we had just stuck to the cheapest power going - coal instead of subsidising all of the well off to free power + a check every month paid for by our higher power bills.
There are always exceptions to the rule, but they're very rare. Point being we're all in here with a record, some may have a broken record at that Do we ever learn from our past mistakes? 3rd time lucky or unlucky? Sorry, couldn't help myself
everything takes money and where it comes from and goes to is another matter let alone the skills shortage the country now faces in the flood re-build and other projects that will fall short of critical labour needs if imigration isn't stepped up some time soon.
insurance co's have a formula that's pretty acurate when it comes to 1st, 2nd 3rd marriages. ie: 1st marriage longest, 2nd shorter, 3rd shorter than 2nd etc... These are hard facts and statistics don't lie so people are best not to be the last person someone marries as they will have the shortest relationship term. Thing is after guys/girls are burnt from previous relationships, they're less likely to be accomodating of their new partners indiscretions and more likely to jump ship knowing how easy it is to do.
Many people don't even fathom how much the coal miners bring into our country in terms of trade $$$$. We would be a net importer if it wasn't for the mines. We now import food, fibre, fuel and cars, yes we don't manufacture any cars, they call it assembly of components imported from o/seas. They're paying farmers to stop irrigating even though it's been done for decades and we've now got more water than we know what to do with. China and other countries are now picking up the slack for the agriculture we aren't producing anymore. On topic, if mining is our bread and butter, we need to fix it up pretty quickly or we'll all be worse for it.
I've tried selling books at Fed Square and gave up. I do better in my book shop. Lee Child is the most popular author in our shop other than Steig Larson
I agree with the levy. Look beyond the short term pain to the long term gain. The mining sector is the only thing that's kept this place ticking. Take it away and we all will be on asian wages and would be as badly off as the rest of the world is. The faster we fix the rail infrastructure, the faster we can export that coal from Qld that means so much to our bottom line on the world trading exchange.
I used to be the same when on shift work hours too. However your body has a way of catching up to you. Be it diabetes or your waiste line, most of us will be on a high fibre diet like our ol' folks eating dried prunes and lots of other heathy stuff once our bodies catch up to our poor eating habits.
I'm thinking of using skype for my calls, if I get a stalker, I can just block them from video calling me plus you can see who is actually talking to you and that is a good thing too.
RE: twice divorced
Not putting up with crap is a good thing but where people draw the line can be obsucred by reality and common sense
