I was very close to The Kalash when I was in Chitral, in fact we had planned a visit to on of the three valleys they inhabit, Brumboret, Birir and Rumbur, but run short of time. Their story is an intriguing one, isolated, non muslims, worshiping around two dozen gods and goddesses and with physical characteristics quite different from people of the surrounding areas. No one know for sure if the Alexander the Great connection is correct, but it would seem quite possible.
Here is an article about their regular festivals from my friends website. Maqsoods company, Hindu Kush Trials run visits to the Kalash valleys, you may find it interesting.
Psyche or soul, (psyche is the Greek word for soul) is simply the word for the mysterious process through which we experience the movement towards meaning. Jungian psychology states that the goal of life is not happiness but meaning, and as far as we know, ours is the only species which feels driven to find meaning. Whether soul is there or not is unimportant, soul is mystery, without the mystery there would be no soul.
