Mine are not stuck on, but deep under the skindoh

RE: RELIGIOUS, AGNOSTIC AND ATHEIST

I don't do religion, but believe and I'll give you one of my reasons in brief.

As a lover of science I have learned that there are rules......call 'em laws. While we do not have a full understanding of the universe we have a decent enough grasp for my reasoning to believe in a creator - god - whatever ya call it.

This is about LIFE. One of the basic laws is that entropy increases.....simply stated - things tend to go from complex to simple. An easy example is an apple. We have all seen an apple rot. It goes from the complex order of having a skin and insides w/ seeds all made up from different cells and complex molecules back to what it used to be.....a few elements, compounds and water. No matter how long you wait it will never go back towards more complex.

Now take that seed we find inside the apple. It can in time become a tree which in turn can produce apples itself. It is ALIVE. If one of those apples should fall from the tree or if the tree itself is brought down we will see complexity become simplicity again.

Seems to me that LIFE actually is contrary to nature. It can't be unless it is made to live or is given life.....the ability to become more complex - and even reproduce.

To me - life demostrates a higher power.....whatever you may call it.

This is one example of how I defend(explain) my belief and still need no religion.

RE: Some of my ideas for a new form of Government

Seems that in the end the problem is always that peace and humans don't mix well.......

RE: Roy Orbison...22 years ago today

RE: Does Archaeology Support the Bible?

You can't read or can't comprehend my post......

I said that stuff not being mentioned could be defended b/c they are not relevent to faith. I scored you some needed points and ya FAIL to recognizelaugh

RE: Does Archaeology Support the Bible?

Are you saying the earth - the universe - has only been around for the approx 6000yrs of time the bible mentions despite the undeniable facts?

RE: travelers

Many......from one small as a car to the C5 Galaxy transport.

RE: Does Archaeology Support the Bible?

A certain translation of a verse in Isiah seems to maybe say the earth is round.....so I'll give 'em that.

If an ancient man saw ...or was told about.... an airplane he would have a very tough time conveying the details w/o reference.

I'm not arguing w/ ya or defending a religion, but do enjoy learning new stuff and giving my opinions and thoughts.handshake

RE: Does Archaeology Support the Bible?

There is no real evidence of the ark.

Crappy pics and piece of wood from who knows where? is all there is apart from stories.

RE: Does Archaeology Support the Bible?

To be fair....because I like all debates to be fair...I'll address this one on his behalf - my answer may be better anywaylaugh

Omission does not dissprove. There are many many things not mentioned in the very short part of Genesis where creation takes place.

More importantly is that these things....or knowledge of these things...are not relevent to the faith.

RE: Does Archaeology Support the Bible?

In all fairness.....he didn't say that.

It was a quote from my posting......he just put his response and my words all in one bunch.

RE: Does Archaeology Support the Bible?

At least Conrad knows the word "ignorant" simply means lacking knowledge and is not an insult like "stupid."

handshake

RE: Does Archaeology Support the Bible?

"Do you accept my beliefs?" means do I agree...not tolerate.
If you MEANT tolerate then why ask it twice is 3 questions?

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt.....my bad.

RE: Does Archaeology Support the Bible?

I apologize to the CS memebers for getting off track.

This thread has already devolved to being the same crap as the others.

I'll only address issues of archaeology or be silentlaugh

My kids are grown now and I sorta forgot that ya can't argue with children or childish mindsprofessor

RE: Does Archaeology Support the Bible?

Nope....I never once said I am not tolerant of christians or people that think they are christians.

What I said is that I do not AGREE NOR BELEIVE it myself.....and am fine w/ the ignorant<-----my words...reflecting my opinion for which I paid to express.

RE: Does Archaeology Support the Bible?

RE: God created us and we created God

If this is your attempt at proselytizing online before going out into the real world.....

RE: Does Archaeology Support the Bible?

N
Y

Because it is the mature thing to do ....not doing so is dissrespectful not only to those following a faith, but to people like me that served in the US military to give the ignorant a free country to be able to study and learn the truth if they want.

RE: What do you think about the Ark Encounter?

So you believe the Gospel of Thomas? It's a real book.....I have a copy right here.

RE: delete

Just BLOCK it......

RE: Does Archaeology Support the Bible?

Make up your mind.....is it unconditional or MUST we join a religion doh

RE: What do you think about the Ark Encounter?

I reccommend some unbiased study of the HISTORY of the text instead of the CONTENTS of the text first.

If I go to fix a machine and grab the wrong manual I will have problems. I GOTTA make sure my book is good first - and that goes to fact....not if I simply BELIEVE it's right.
