RE: Dancing SOLO or Pairs

I agree, it is a pity people can't dance in pairs. I learned for some months ballroom dancing and loved it! How great and passionate dance is tango for example! But I suppose some feminists would argue against it, because the woman has to obey the lead of the man, ha ha! Well, I may be feminist in some respects, but I like to be lead in the dance by a skilled and confident partner!

RE: Have you ever thought of killing someone?

Not in an obvious way, no. But the guilt is somewhere in the back of my mind. What if these thoughts added to the bad fate of these people? That is a scary thought.

RE: Let's Bash The Yanks!

That is true that many Americans are lovely people. And that is also true that we should distinguish between the people and the state politics, be it American, Iranian or Russian or whatever, because not all people in one given country are the same.

RE: Have you ever thought of killing someone?

Yes, I do feel very guilty. I once read that you should not allow yourself such thoughts, because the thought may have power. I should have known that then. I don't want to say anymore, it hurts. crying

RE: Have you ever thought of killing someone?

Yes, but I regret it. crying

RE: What do you do............

Cry a bit, then go to sleep. In the morning go to work and there is no time to think about it. So the time goes by. comfort

RE: Do men often feel insecure?

Everyone feels insecure, men or women. dunno

RE: Do you believe in Survival of the fittest?

There is probably more about survival than just fitness. Fit person may be plain unlucky and not that fit person may have good luck and survive long. Some unfit are more cautious and live long, some very fit and adventurous die young in accidents. Cooperation also is known to enhance survival - say a friendly group helping each other have better survival chances than a warring one.

RE: Law of the Universe

I am thinking the law under which all laws are governed, including law of gravity, law of resistance etc[/quote

No such law has been discovered yet, but it does not mean there is no one. Will it ever be discovered? How would it write? May be some code containing all the universe. But it all can be purely speculation, I would not take seriously any claims that anyone knows such law.

RE: Law of the Universe

This one:

The Emerald Tablet, also known as Smaragdine Table, Tabula Smaragdina, or The Secret of Hermes, is a text purporting to reveal the secret of the primordial substance and its transmutations. It claims to be the work of Hermes Trismegistus ("Hermes the Thrice-Greatest"), a legendary Hellenistic combination of the Greek god Hermes and the Egyptian god Thoth.

RE: when u report someone for personal reasons, what do u think the cs can do?

I never report anyone, just ignore.

RE: Eggs,,,,,,how do you value them?

I like eggs and eat two for breakfast every morning. Sometimes boiled, sometimes fried, scrambled or omelet. They actually have lecithin in them that helps to reduce cholesterol. Only problem is with skin - they make it a bit dry and not so soft.

RE: Law of the Universe

There must be quite few laws of the universe. For example strong nuclear force in which the matter is being created and gravitation. Could be more, just do not come in mind. From more philosophical point there is some ancient teaching, forgot the name that says 'what is above, is below, what is inside, is outside' or something like that. In the newer interpretation, universe is a hologram where the small reflect the big and vice versa.

RE: Why men have trouble communicating their feelings

May be you are right. I was infatuated with one guy. It did not work well, we did not even had a proper relationship, but we knew each other for years. After a while I discovered that he was envious. He said, why is that that I always have everything better than he, car, apartment, ideas, whatever. I was shocked, competition was never in my mind, I just wanted love!

RE: USA ability...

OK statistics is a tricky thing. There are critics and supporters of that study, and the critics you mentioned first is clearly partisan. But that casualty estimate was not the highest one. A large systematic review of 13 studies show violence related excess death estimates in a range 48-759 per day. Which is right? No good answers here, but probably we could take averages. Most of the studies were for a period 2003-2006, but not all. Almost 6 years have passed since, so the number of casualties will be much higher now. Add the misery of 2 million people who fled Iraq and another 2 million displaced internally. Add the threat of sectarian violence, lack of jobs and stability, secondary casualties due to bad living conditions. Add the losses of American military lives and cost to American economy. Happy picture? May be there are few winners who benefited from the war, but most people on both sides are losers.

What do you mean on same level? Do you believe they are on the same level with us? devil wink laugh

Artificial meat

Have not seen it in Ireland! laugh Hope during my life time there will still be some natural food available.

RE: How do you respond when...............................

I try to reply with thank you, but I may sometimes leave it for later and then forget. But I don't know if it matters, do men even notice no replay? Because it seems they send flowers and short messages to many women.

Artificial meat

You say about the rot better controlled, but how? They would do that probably with antibiotics and preservatives and that is a concern. There is already enough antibiotic resistant bacteria and this would add to the problem.

RE: USA ability...

It is not discredited, it is discussed and it is a valid, peer reviewed study. Criticism is a normal thing, it does not mean that something is a 'laughing stock'.

It is hard to know the course of events if there was no intervention. It may be that Iraqis would have overthrown Saddam with much less blood by now. dunno

Artificial meat

Did you read the post? It is not about eating or not the steak, but about some weird laboratory grown meat that will be improved with blood and lab grown fat and different additives for taste and preservation.

RE: why do spain female are full of shame than dry eyes westerners.........

Yes, you should be more careful about what you are writing. Can't understand the question.

RE: USA ability...

Nice chicken feed, 3 trillion and counting!

RE: USA ability...

Forgot to put in the link:

RE: USA ability...

Well here you have 'savings of lives'. This is from Massachusetts Institute of Technology Report:

A new household survey of Iraq has found
that approximately 600,000 people have
been killed in the violence of the war that began
with the U.S. invasion in March 2003.
The survey was conducted by an American and Iraqi team of public health
researchers. Data were collected by Iraqi medical doctors with analysis
conducted by faculty of the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.
The results will be published in the British medical journal, The Lancet.

RE: USA ability...

Artificial meat

Believe or not, researchers are working on it. I don't think it will be a great steak! laugh If it is our future to eat such crap, we are lucky to live in times when some normal food is still available.

Artificial meat

True, but many will not go vegetarian and that yucky artificial meet is going to rot much quicker, so they may need to put in additional chemicals to preserve it and people will eat it. Disgusting!

RE: USA ability...

USA military spending is 43% of worlds total military spending according to the chart on that website. Huge spending. War in Iraq alone has been estimated to cost the economy over 3 trillion USD$. (Stiglitz and Bilmes, 2008), can see link to the article below.

Hard to know whether it can ever be justified by any future gains. It can't be beneficial to the country, it does not make sense. But boys like to play war, what can you do?

Artificial meat

The burgers grown from the stem cells are on their way! Scientists in Netherlands are serious about feeding the world sustainably:

Professor Post's group at Maastricht University in the Netherlands has grown small pieces of muscle about 2cm long, 1cm wide and about a mm thick.

They are off-white and resemble strips of calamari in appearance. These strips will be mixed with blood and artificially grown fat to produce a hamburger by the autumn.

But will you eat that meat? That is what the creator of this meat says about the taste:

"In the beginning it will taste bland," says Prof Post. "I think we will need to work on the flavour separately by trying to figure out which components of the meat actually produce the taste and analyse what the composition of the strip is and whether we can change that."

Or you are better off going vegetarian? That is what the opponent says:

Dr Steele, who is also a molecular biologist, said he was also concerned that unhealthily high levels of antibiotics and antifungal chemicals would be needed to stop the synthetic meat from rotting.

Bon appetit!
