RE: What will cause the fall of USA?

If the USA will fall, the effects will not stay 'in house'. Just don't know how can it fall - apart? Like states pulling out and going on their own? Or just crash economically like Greece? Who will bail America out then? confused Or will it be more creditors' trouble than America's? laugh

RE: Animals before humans

Biologically we are mammals, a kind of animals. laugh Strange, but we can't deny science.

RE: If you send out a 'HI THERE' & get no reply...not even a 'ta but no thanks'..isn't that rude??

'Hi there' is not worth replying, you are probably sending tens of hi theres out every day.

RE: Animals before humans

Why not? What is so special about humans? We are animals too, just very clever and more aggressive and powerful than other species. Some may not like this aggression in other humans, they may feel powerless and be more comfortable in the company of dogs or cats or whoever. I saw the documentary about a 'dog women'. There was one with 20 something dogs at home. I think she felt more in control when she was with her dogs, because dogs were seeing her as the leader of the pack. She was really taking part in their life, talking to them and instilling order when they were fighting. She said they never attacked her.

Of course, because every specie love their own kin above others, it will never be accepted that one may prefer other, but I think this is an animal instinct too.

RE: Don't you feel sometimes like selling everything you have to travel the world and leave everything b

Aah, they are not fit! And you promised all British women are fat and all guys look after their BMI! I already was packing my bags, but now have to unpack again! crying

RE: Don't you feel sometimes like selling everything you have to travel the world and leave everything b

Guys guys. This is a posting about travelling.

Not a discussion about being (too) fat.

Please try another thread for this.....

Ah, yes, sorry! Will travel where there are fit, not fat, guys though! laugh

RE: Don't you feel sometimes like selling everything you have to travel the world and leave everything b

I have no idea about my index, ha ha! I have a rule not to eat late at night, no junk foods and bread and it is sufficient to stay thin. But the question was about British guys though - can you guarantee that they are worth my visit? I mean gents in age range around 50-60. Are they fit, washed, clothes ironed, nice smell? I don't need visa to go to the UK, so if the answer is positive then super laugh

RE: habits and traditional life of countries and conventional wisdoms

In Latvia, steeling the bride has also long been a custom. The groom then must find her and give a ransom to get her back. It used to end in fights though, so probably not a great custom. I don't know if people still are doing this, but they were when I was younger.

RE: Last meal

Not sure I would have much appetite! confused

RE: habits and traditional life of countries and conventional wisdoms

'Have a light steam' to someone who goes into bathhouse. It is not in Ireland though, it is in may homeland in Latvia where people say that.

At the wedding, it is a custom to take veil off the bride at midnight and dress both bride and groom in old time clothes to look like man and wife 100 years ago, quite ridiculous I would say! laugh Everyone else is having fun though!

RE: Mam,....does it bother you ladies?

I wish they did, but it seems to have gone out of fashion. Sometimes in the shops staff does, but it is because they are instructed. Feels good anyway. Then once an older gentleman called me mam and it made my day! Hate when people whom I don't know call me 'hun' and 'love' also does not feel right because they do not love me. So why call someone love when you even don't know them?

RE: North Korea now cited as nuclear threat to U.S.

No, but they are the ones who benefit.

RE: North Korea now cited as nuclear threat to U.S.

Neither winners nor losers, that is just how things are - if you want a peace, prepare for war. Not saying it is good, but it is not an immediate danger too. Just terrible waste of money, so in that sense everyone is loser except for the arms industries.

RE: North Korea now cited as nuclear threat to U.S.

OK, I don't mean everyone literally, just the big players.

RE: North Korea now cited as nuclear threat to U.S.

So what? Everyone is pointing missiles to everyone else.

RE: Divorce more common when wife is sick...

It is not only when the wife is sick men abandon them, that happens also when children are chronically sick. Because they see the other people as means to their wellbeing and if they have to do themselves something for the others, they just shoot off.

RE: 47 States Revolt Against Obama Gun Laws

Misposted last time! These symptoms of lack of remorse and compassion and bland stare are a sign of a psychopath. Some of the killers were diagnosed psychopaths. But it is interesting that the war game players get that stare after playing for long time. May be there is some temporary psychopathic type change in their brains?

RE: 47 States Revolt Against Obama Gun Laws

What brainwashing? I don't think it would be possible. You have your love for guns in your blood and I am not going to love them so it is just a discussion where nobody is going to change their minds.

RE: 47 States Revolt Against Obama Gun Laws

How do you guard people with guns? Any shooting on the streets has a potential of killing somebody innocent by error. As I posted before, it would make sense to arm police with something that incapacitates the perpetrator rather than kills. Shoot some paralyzing stuff at them and arrest. The real firearms are crazy thing to carry around in civilian areas. It is not a war time now!

RE: 47 States Revolt Against Obama Gun Laws

The police in the UK don't carry firearms at all.

RE: 47 States Revolt Against Obama Gun Laws

Yes, I got it. A good example would be the tyranny of the Bolsheviks who 'liberated' Russia in 1917 from the tzar. The absolute power of the tzar was of course oppressive, but was mild when compared with the ensuing Bolshevik terror. Bolsheviks said they were fighting for the rights of the majority of people, but ended tyrannizing everyone, were cruel regime.

RE: 47 States Revolt Against Obama Gun Laws

Tyranny is an absolute power of a ruler or may be a government and an oppressive or cruel power. But it also is a power that lacks legitimacy. US government can't lack legitimacy because it is an elected government. It also has no absolute power because it is contested at many levels. Oppressive? That is what some people seem to be implying when they say that their rights are being violated by the government. Rights. I better don't get into discussion about them, but the rights of course often clash. There is that notion of a tyranny of a majority where only the rights of the majority matter and the minorities are oppressed, but I am not sure how far it would be applicable to the US. So, formally it is 'all well in the kingdom'. But is it?

RE: 47 States Revolt Against Obama Gun Laws

From the government? That is naive to think you can defend yourself from the government with all its power with some firearms. They have drones after all.

RE: 47 States Revolt Against Obama Gun Laws

So you think just shoot them all and the world will be a better place?
Hmm, could you do that? Or imagine, you had a teenage son or brother. He got drunk and decided to take someone's car to go for a drive. Youngsters sometimes do silly things. The owner took a gun and shot him dead. Would you say well done?

RE: 47 States Revolt Against Obama Gun Laws

Not a problem, give another shoot to keep them still till police arrives! laugh I don't know whether I would agree that it is OK to shoot dead every criminal. It would be a quick justice for sure, but would make a very violent society.

RE: 47 States Revolt Against Obama Gun Laws

I know, you have to protect own life, but what I have been thinking is why would not there be guns that shoot some tranquilizer that takes a person out for a while? The kind you see when the vets need to sedate big and dangerous animals? Or some kind of paralyzing stuff? Why killing? Killing must be terrible even to protect own life. I would never want to have to kill.

RE: Should CS purge users profiles..

I object! I may not come on site for month and more because am busy, but then I would come again when have some spare time. I don't want my profile purged, it is usually hidden anyway and should not bother anyone.

RE: 47 States Revolt Against Obama Gun Laws

Isn't that gun keeping thing somewhat atavistic? I mean, it is not the Middle Ages now when one's security was in his own hands. And there are too many people around for all carrying guns and shooting when they imagine there is a threat. What would happen if a shooting started on a busy street or on underground station? For an armed person a verbal conflict could probably end in armed if he has a bad temper or is under the influence of alcohol or something, and the innocent people around would suffer. It seems to be very weird addiction to have guns, but well, if people choose that lifestyle... dunno

RE: Are you Happy Being a Human ?

Yes, we humans are at the top of the food chain, usually nobody eats us! laugh
