No,I don't believe in god,not a big believer in free will either so fair to say I agree with the luck aspect of ypour post, luck of the gene pool really.
Farrk me man your not being just a bit presumptuous here maybe?
Fact is she would've being tested within one hour of winning the race,so rest assured we would have heard something by now, although no doubt it was freakish but, freaks do come along.
Although I have my doubts about the saudi arabian female runner, holy moly she was moving, like a flash, must have been drugs involved in her case.
Given "IF" and curiosity go hand in hand I suggest we keep it in our vocabulary.Unless you like the idea of humanity still eating raw meat in a cold cave cause we don't have fire, well then fine, but I like the word, think it's served us well. But certainly agree with the gist of your psot.
As far as Australians go I'd say Howard Florey for his role in regards to penicillin.
Norman Borlaug(father of the green revolution)for better or worse, either way he could certainly be seen as having a major influence on the world.
Also given the way Chinas shaping up in regards to future influence, then perhaps Deng Xiaoping could be percieved as more influential than Mao even.Having said that I think Mao would have to be a candidate.
Not like this no.We have compulsory voting so 90 odd percent of adults vote,so no need for the name and shame game, which is what that seems to be.Intimidation alright.
I picked argentina of the list although I think Germany will be up there,or one of a number of sth american sides perhaps,
Think Japan too,bit of a dark horse. Not sure when it'll happen, but they will win a world cup,or two or three at some point.Thats my prediction, based on no qualification whatsoever.
BTW-I'm yet to see anything that suggests that is actually the party plan, which doesn't mean its not, however it does seem to be very unlikely that they could,it would take some major technological,as well as agricultural advances.
Don't know who said that,I didn't.Fact is they more than likely couldn't be now even if they wanted too.As their population seems to be increasing, not decreasing, add to this all their other needs which will increase, not decrease,so if they can't do it now,how will they in the future?
Anyway, weren't you going to bed,you should, that grey matter of yours definitely needs a rest so,goodnight.
From the link below-""For China to feed itself is a major undertaking. It has to feed 21 percent of world's people with 7 percent of the world's arable land. This means that China's entire population of 1.3 billion people China (four times as many people as in the United States) must be fed on arable land that covers less territory than the state of Texas. Massive famines have been a recurrent themes in Chinese history.""
They could barley feed themselves now,add more dams, mining, more people to feed and all that. How they gonna be self-sufficent,all that and still be a superpower in 2020.
Ya gonna hurt ya head there mate, anyhow, how the hell can china be self-sufficent,I believe they would like to be more so than they are now but that in itself doesn't mean they aim to be entirely so.
I think the major flaw in any notion of a globalist agenda is the simple fact that throughout history, nothings inspired bloody confrontations more than threats to national sovernity,or ethnic identity and the like,so try as they may(whoever they are)all we'd see is conflict, not submission. I don't believe theres any such entity with any such agenda anyway so,all irrelevant really.
Of course it was real, why you can even buy real estate on the moon, just $18.95 an acre, and would you believe that the person who started this has made millions of dollars. Now thats unreal.
""If one purges the Judaism of the Prophets and Christianity as Jesus taught it of all subsequent additions, especially those of the priests, one is left with a teaching which is capable of curing all the social ills of humanity."" Mr Einstein.
I think where comparing apples and oranges in regards to the british empire, either way I won't argue that one can't sustain an element of poverty whilst being a major power, however the more poverty stricken there are,the greater the potential for social unrest, which, whether you wish to acknowledge it or not, seems to be of major concern to the CPC.
18% of total exports, can't mean nothing, they are expanding their markets of course but one thing that is questionable is whether they can support themselves via internal markets, they've certainly struggled in the past to even feed themselves let alone grow there economy. No exports,no superpower.
From the link below-""The EU may be China's single biggest export destination, where 14.4 percent year on year growth lifted the total value of exports to $356 billion in 2011, but it still only represents 18.8 percent of all the goods shipped from mainland ports.
An estimated 200 million jobs -- a quarter of China's workforce -- are directly dependent upon the external sector, hiking the political risks of an export slowdown to a leadership hypersensitive to any hint of social instability that might threaten the one-party rule of the Communist Party.
Chinese President Hu Jintao said this week that China must implement "even more pro-employment" policies in coming years.
Well depite democratic process being very inefficent, despite all it's faults,it's interesting to note that we don't see citizens in democratic countries spilling their blood in the streets, whilst screaming "we want a dictatorship" or "we want a one party system",all one way traffic man,and one way or another it seems very possible, that china will end up there as well, either given by the current powers or taken by the people.Could well be granted, their well on there way already it would seem.
No,not western style poverty, actual, profound poverty. Also if every western nation collapses then so does china, that simple. And financial stability isn't what I speak of anyhow. Maybe you don't see the point but the chinese government certainly does and they may maintain social calm, but to say it's a given, well, many believe it's not.
In his address to the United Nations, Deng went much further than promising that China would never behave like a superpower.
In fact, he made this extraordinary exhortation: "If one day China should change her color and turn into a superpower, if she too should play the tyrant in the world, and everywhere subject others to her bullying, aggression and exploitation, the people of the world should identify her as social-imperialism, expose it, oppose it and work together with the Chinese people to overthrow it."
Gawd, what a thinly veiled slap in the face that is,wonder who it's aimed at.
