But to explain the OP 6x jump.

The astronauts were taught to take hopping steps while the moon. If they took a full leap it might throw them off balance on the landing. If they fell the lunar surface, it might tear and damage their suits.
They would decompress and die.

A company I worked for made a cordless lunar core drill. That they took to the moon to drill core sample from the lunar surface. Here on Earth it worked perfectly. On the moon? Just a little different.

The core drill was a 1/2 drill motor that spun at 600 rpm. It had large T handles in it with a grip trigger to engage the motor. It had shaft that connected to the 14inch core bit. The astronaut used it standing up.

Only....

When the core bit hit a lunar rock and jammed. It put the torque into the standing Astronaut and lifted him off of his feet. Spun him completely around one time. Then he lets go. It flung him from the drill about 12 feet. 1/6th gravity right?

He landed on his boot tips, knees and gloves. It was quiet a balancing act to make a 6 point landing. )) But these were very well conditioned men. But he saved cutting his suit and dieing.

The astronauts had a video camera running to capture the first core bit taken on the moon. So this was all captured on film. That film is at the companies museum in Towson Maryland. Because of the CS policy on commercialization I cannot mention the firm's name. But you have enough clues to find it.
