I think you've already received some great suggestions, can I add Breakfast at Tiffany's,(a classic with Audrey Hepburn) Manhattan (Woody Allen) and As good as it gets (with Jack Nicholson).
It's just as easy to be misinterpreted when you are talking to someone. The written word is actually easier because you have more time to think about what you want to express...well maybe not on the forums....I can't imagine you have ever been thought of as insulting, you seem like an intelligent thoughtful man to me otherwise you wouldn't think about this topic at all.
Okay, I admit that it's my job to ensure correct grammar and spelling so maybe that's why I care about it. However it's also possible to differentiate between the odd spelling mistake (did you do that on purpose by the way? important, appearance)and lack of intelligence. I hope I'm not going to get slated now!
Interesting list, but remember that it's quite a big step to post a profile for the first time and expectations can be high. Most of you are old hands at this and perhaps have forgotten why some people take that step.
Hi Paul, yes it does affect my first impression (see my thread earlier today).Perhaps it shouldn't and it's not so much the posts but the e-mails. Surely if someone is interested enough to send one they could make a bit more of an effort?
I agree completely and I know relationships with age differences can work but without sounding as though I am generalising, men are usually attracted by youth, it's something to do with procreation genes so my philosophy is to stick with older men. They are usually more interesting anyway!
Think it matters more for women than men. I'm in my forties and don't think a much younger man could appreciate me as much as an older man. Having said that there are older men who probably wouldn't be interested in someone my age and are still hung up on finding that young trophy girl.
Hi, I'm quite new too, but I think it just takes time for everyone to get to know you and nothing to do with shutting people out. Where in the north west are you, I was born in Liverpool.
I try not to judge, most people look quite different face to face anyway. However I think a lot of the guys here do, recently sent 5 flowers and not one reply, not even thanks not interested!
Well I've got a date! 24th August I will meet this man on neutral ground. We have exchanged photos and spoken quite a bit on the phone so hopefully there shouldn't be any surprises. I think I'm banking too much on it though after a long marriage (we're still friends) and a disasterous year long relationship with a jealous violent man here in Spain, Probably too much info for a new girl to the forum but had to let it out. Any tips?
