But you dont! You already made excuses for smokers saying tobacco is taxed without mentioning food is taxed too.

And you seem to think addiction to food is just people who can't keep their hand off the fridge but addiction to tobacco is something different.

Every argument you use against overweight people I can use against smokers!

When we pay tax it is to society and I for one don't want to live in a society were we punish people for addictions they may have. We allow drink companies, tobacco companies and fast food companies to sponsor sports events, advertise all over the TV, radio and media but when people become addicted to their product you think they should be punished? Well except smoking, you think that is OK

The damage is done if you smoked for many years. Your chances of many diseases is increased greatly. That is a fact and smoking costs the health service of the country huge money. And people who are ill through smoking get welfare payments too!

So if you are going to blame people who have a problem with their eating for the money they cost the health service then you also have to blame smokers!

Only a hypocrite wouldn't!

Everyone knows smokers cost the state far more than is taken in tax from tobacco. But you're a smoker so I would expect you to come out with a BS statement like that. Food is taxed too you know.

The thing is you came on here giving out about people who can't hep themselves eating. But you can't stop smoking so who are you to judge them?

Hypocrite is a word I would use.

So what? Smokers cost more than people who don't smoke. People who don't keep fit cost more than people who keep fit. People with diabetes, epilepsy or have special needs cost more than people who dont have those problems.

The Afghan Taliban has said it is ready to hand over a US soldier held captive since 2009 in exchange for five of its senior operatives being held at Guantanamo Bay.

Taliban spokesman Shaheen Suhail said US Army Sgt Bowe Bergdahl "is as far as I know in good condition".

He was speaking from the newly opened Taliban offices in Doha, Qatar.
Sgt Bergdahl disappeared in eastern Afghanistan on June 30, 2009.

Mr Shaheen said "first has to be the release of detainees", and after that, the Taliban "want to build bridges of confidence".
He offered no details on Sgt Bergdahl's current whereabouts.

He spoke as the US scrambles to save talks with the Taliban after angry complaints from Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

I can explain very easy. If someone takes in more calories than they burn they get fat. If they take in less than they burn they lose weight. That is a fact and no matter what genes you have that will happen.

If you daughter and grand daughter are eating a lot but are still skinny then they are burning those calories and are active.

But in my experience when I am told by skinny people they eat huge amounts or by the family of skinny people they eat huge amounts it is untrue. When they do a food diary they are actually eating less than they should be and that is why they are so skinny.

Above we can see the most stupid statement on N. Ireland ever. Saying Roman Catholics are prone to terrorism is only something an absolute idiot would say and then to say destroy them is just brainless. Destroy 40% of the population of N. Ireland.

Then for some reason the idiot gets N. Ireland and England mixed up. Telling us all what religion England is.



Then after that embarrassing statement on N. Ireland he claims to know about Irish History! And again starts banging on about C of E. In this statement he now gets England and Britain mixed up.

I think an under active thyroid can make it hard to lose weight and that can cause some people to be overweight. But that is not genes. That is medical. The problem is lots of overweight people are now blaming their genes or thyroid without even thinking. It's such a cop out.

My sister was overweight and asked for my help. I called in 5 nights a week and we went running and to the gym. She also started eating better. She lost 5 stone(70 pounds) in about 2 years and she is still a normal weight now.

I sympathies with overweight people. I know there are psychological reasons people over eat. But I don't accept genes are to blame. That is such a cop out. And the obesity problem will only get worse if we start thinking like that.

If overweight people eat a balanced diet and exercise they will lose weight no matter what genes they have.

You claimed I was laughing at people in concentration camps which I find offensive. And the reason you claimed that is because you did not like my argument. And argument which hold water and you don't seem to be able to put holes in.

I am sure depression causes people over eating, I doubt a chemical in-balance does. But it all come back to OVER EATING. Taking in more calories than you burn. Now if you want to go into the reasons people over eat then that is fair enough but genes are not to blame for people being fat. Eating more calories than you burn is the reason!

Can I ask you how many Fat people you see in Africa or in concentration camps on TV? None! So it's not a family gene thing. That is an excuse. It is from eating more calories than you burn.

Well whats the worst that can happen? They are already at war. Do governments not have a responsibility to try and find peace if there is a way. There would have been peace in N. Ireland many many years earlier if it wasn't for the stubborn Conservative governments refusing to talk to the IRA.

Well that is the age old question. And who decides what a terrorist is? One mans terrorist is anothers freedom fighter. I am sure many people in Iraq and Afghanistan would call the UK and US armies terrorists?

The majority in N. Ireland want to be British and that is why it should remain British. The problem in N. Ireland wasn't so much of what state had control of it but it was the way Catholics were treated as second class citizans for many many years. It was always going to blow up.

The next big problem is in 20 years when the Catholic population is the majority and that majority may decide they don't want to be part of the UK. Then it could all start all over again.

When you realise you're involved in a conflict you can never win the only thing to do is talk. The British realised that in Northern Ireland and now the US has realised it in Afghanistan.
