I know there is no contest, Alex Ferguson is the greatest manager the English league has ever seen and probably the best the world has ever seen. In his firs 9 years he won a lot. He took over in 1986 so up until 95 he won a couple of FA Cups, a Cup winners Cup and twi league titles. Again math isn't your thing is it?

And I know Fergie wont be there forever but the club is on a stable footing. We have a huge support. We have a world class stadium and the board are keeping the money flowing. So when a new manger does take over it will be a world class manager like Maurino or Guardiola. We wont be turned down by the likes of Roberto Martinez.

And I have been hearing about you lot redevolping a stadium for years. I'll believe it when I see it.


But you're the typical Liverpool supporter. Banging on about the 70's and early 80's like they were yesterday. That was over 30 years ago. You are no longer one of Europes elite. You cant compete off the pitch with money and on the pitch with the average players you have. Everton have a better quality squad than you at the moment.

And you think thats all Brendan Rodgers fault so ge should go? Its muppets like "King Kenny", Souness and Evans ran your club into the ground.

Do you freally want Liverpool to turn into one of those clubs that changes their managers more often than their kits?

What did you expect from Rodgers with the squad he inheritated? It was not him that wasted 35 million on that muppet Carroll. He wanted Clint Dempsey and the club would not back him and his punt on Sturridge looks to have paid off.


I'm a Man U fan. I would love to see Liverpool suffer so the more managers you have come through the door the better. But changing your manager every year does not breed success. If in 3 years time he is still in the same position i'd sack him. Ypu cant blame the man for the woes of the club at the moment.

Good game of football. United could have and should have nicked it in the end.

I am very happy with 1-1 though. Madrid have lost 8 on their travels this season and United are always strong at home.

Not meaning to take away from a great game either but the ref bottled it too. Madrid should have had a player sent off, Ronaldo had a shout for a pen and why did he not let United take their corner at the end? There was still 10 seconds on the clock?


All and all a good game, probably a fair result. Looking forward to round two!

R. Madrid v Man u....Biggest game in world football...Id take a 1-2 loss. If we can keep them to a goal with an away goal we will go throug....they are not great away from home.

I agree with a whole lot of waht you say but as we and I live in a democracy the government is there to serve us. Not big business or the interest of oil or weapons companies.
National Security is always important but for the life of me I cant see how starting wars that kill hundreds of thousands(mainly innocent civilans) is any way to go about protecting the interest of any country. All you do is breed hatred and contept from the countries losing these innocent people and create the next generation of terrorists.

Thats what happened in Ireland. In the late 60's and early 70's the UK brought in policies that locked people up in the North of Ireland without trial. They terrorised one side of the community and in doing so created more terrorists than they ever managed to catch.

Oh I know you meant no offence and none was taken. I was simply pointing out others sterotypical view of Ireland.


But I dont think there can be a sterotypical view of US foreign policy even tough there can be of the population. I always found the people in the US i dealt with to be intelligent, kind and happy people.....but they still voted GW Bush in twice and supported wars in parts of the world the could not find on a map. Thats all I am saying. They are feed so much misinformation by their own government and they take it as absolute truth...thats all im saying,

I think a lot of that streyotupical view of Ireland being not as modern as they thought. They think the place is full of people playing fiddles and riding horse and carts.

What they dont realise is we are as modern as any other Western Europe City. We have lovely Georgian buildings as they are listed so we wont allow them to be knocked down to build skyscrapers. We like the look of out skyline.

But we have a very educated population and most Multi Nationals have their European head quarters here as are graduates from college are very well educated dfrom everything to Chemistry to Information Technology.

We do have a large Eastern European population that we welcomE. But if certain people want to think of us as a population of gusiness drinkers, who like to fight each other and spend all our time in the pub, that's ok with us too. When they come they realise how wrong they are.

So you're taking one Canadian Man and comparing the other 35 million or so Canadians to him. Good argument.

I think the fact Canada has one of the best health care systems in the world, the fact they get FREE healthcare no matter how poor you are and the fact they are known worldwide as a friendly and intelligent nation says a lot about the nations attitude.

Very true. It just sickens me when I see a single parent arrested because they have not paid their TV licence and they get sent to prision but a politican admits defrauding the state of 1.5 million Euro pluse transfering millions in assests to family so the tax man cant touch it. He never sees the inside of s courtroom never mind a prison.

And dont get me started about the penalty points being dropped for Judges, Politicans and Garda recently while a hard workig Learner Driver gets their cars taken off them on the way to work because a fully licenced driver is not with them.

We have bankers who robbed billions, the quinn family who are defrauding hundreds by the day but we have crack downs in working class areas every night were innocent people on the way to the shop are subjected to being searched and queationed because of were they happen to live.

I hate the lot of them!

I have no time for the Garda or the Irish judicial system as a whole. They are all bent and crooks and think the laws of the land dont count when it comes fo friends, family or friends of family, or politicans or people with money.

All the chippers and local shops must be depghted. It will save them a fortune in all the free food our so called boys in blue demand I mean receive from them.

Anyone ever had their housr or worked premises robbed. A "decectives arrive around 24 hours later and asked have you touched anything! It been 24 hours ffs....how long to you think we can go without touching anything....then you never hear from them again.......recently a politican had his house knicked...it was all over the 6 o clock news,,,,they had the white forensic tents up...about 20 Garda vans outside and the photofits on crimeline.....Its nice to know we are all one under the eyes of the law.

Waste of space every last one of them!

United v Everton. It will be a hard game. I really rate this Everton side and it was the 4-4 draw last year after being 4-2 up that cost us the league.

I predict United to win by the odd goal but a very close game.

I dont remeber mentioning Germany as they are a country with a far bigger population than us. I said countries of similar size. Is Germany the same size as Ireland? And your report is a union report. Its like asking a football player to football players get paid too much. It is far from an independant source now is it as it was commissioned by a union.


The facts reamin that a Garda starting wage after hisovertime and rent allowances and paperwork allowances and transport allowances and other allowances are taken into account is about 35-40k a year. That is a huge starting wage for any job. Nurses spend 4 years in college and dont get that. Graduates after years in college start on about 25k nowadays. So its far too high. And this has a knock on effect to later earning which are far too high. When the allowances are taken away it will bring them inline to what they should really be earning. At the end of the day its a job. Why should they get a rent allowance. People move all the time for jobs. Why should they get a transport allowance? We all have to get to work? Why should they get an allowance for doing paperwork? Paperwork is part of their bloody job! If you want to be a dog handler why should you get exrtra for a post you applied for? If by working a Sunday you are still only doing a 35 hour week why get overtime rates?

This gravy train in the public service needs to come to an end.

I was talking about that to my mate a while back. Years ago when the TV broke the man was called and he came around and repaired it. Most people rented their TV's too back in the day.

Now when a TV has a slight problem people chuck it. They do the same with laptops too. It could be a very simple problem to fix but they dont even bring it anywhere.

That does not mention any of the allowances they get. They get huge annual allowances for certain things. They get a rent allowance and an allowance for doing paper work. I wish my job gave me that.

I have given you the facts. I have told you their starting pay and the main allowances they receive. I did not even mention the overtime they get for Sundays when they still only work a 32 hour week or shift allowance that would bulk up their salary even more.

You have not rebuffed one of my statements but claim I dont have the facts which leads me to believe it's you who hasn't a clue what you're on about. You had claimed to be unbiased in an earlier post and this was so obviously a lie also.

The Song has was composed in 1907. It was sung in the GPO in 1916. It was first published in 1912 was was sung by Irish Soldiers during the war of Independance. The fianna fail party came after the song not the other way round!

The Fianna Fail Party was not formed until 1926 so you're talking crap I'm afraid. And Rugby is a posh sport. It is not played in the majority of schools in working class areas. It is played in all fee paying schoos though. Thats a fact. If you cant deal with it it's not my problem. And study up a bit on Irish History will ya.
