OK the Premier League starts again this weekend.peace

Any comments about games, players, managers or the league in general can be said in here.

I think this season will be a close one again. The winner imo will come from City, United or Chelsea but I am obviously going to go for United.

And I still think we will sign Van Pierse before the window shuts!!!!!!party

I have my first game weekend in Manchester booked already.cheers

I think Citeh are gonna walk it this season, they are only really starting to gel and they are gonna be a real dominant force for years to come, i just don't see any team getting anywhere near them, Chelsea will be hard to beat next season but other than them i don't see anybody getting near Citeh conversing

I dont know. Cities season can go two ways. They can get better and kick on or they can have the second season syndrome. You see it with players a lot when they have a great season and the next they are no were near as good.

I hope its the latter.laugh

Some player might get second season syndrome but not a whole squad laugh

I think any realistic football fan will agree with me, Citeh haven't even gelled properly yet and they have the best squad in the league by a country mile...they're the team to beat!!

As Long as Spurs finish around 5th or higher I am happy. I think the Jury is out on AVB. He wasn't given time at Cheski. Man City it will be a interesting season for them.
Man Utd will be hard to beat this year and if they sign RVP (which i think they will )all bets will be off.
The Gooners will finish around Mid table with any sort of luck. rolling on the floor laughing

As a United fan........... I will be realistic!

Of course i hope United win the league. But i think it is Citys again unfortunately. Why?

Still lack in central midfield. Ashley Young is a waste of space. Rafael, Jones and Smalling are completely over-rated and i can't see them becoming stars at United. If Van Persie does go to United, we do have a chance to win the league, but if he doesn't, it is going to be a massive struggle against City.

Very weak at right-full, central midfield and left midfield. City are strong all over the park.

I agree they are the team to beat, the champions always are!

But United have Fletcher and Vidic back and that's like 2 great new signings. Kagawa looks a good buy and if they get Van Pierse then I think they can put it up to City.

I agree. Oh and it looks like we are getting RVP. Arsenal and United have agreed a fee subject to a medical and United agreeing personal terms with the player.

Still can't beat Man City with their midfield. The likes of Giggs, Scholes and Carrick are either too old or not good enough to compete with a midfield of Toure, Nasri, Silva. With Tevez back playing too, it will be City again.

You're forgetting Darren Fletcher. He's back. He played a reserve game the other day. I think it will be Cleveley, Fletcher, Kagawa, Anderson and Carrick competing for the two central midfield slots with Scholes and Giggs on the bench. Okay so it doesn't look as good on paper as Toure, Nasri and Silva but its not too bad either. I'll also be interested to see how Nick Powell does. He's supposed to be a handy player too.

Ferguson will no doubt get the best out of his players. How they got so close last year with the team he had was unreal. But City will be even better this year. United missed out on Moura and Hazard. They were really the players they needed. They always scored plenty of goals. Van Persie wasn't really needed.

It was unreal alright. You have to give City credit with all the problems they had with Balotelli and with Tevez, they still won the league albeit on goal difference. City were supposed to have had a much more superior squad compared to everyone else but only won the league by the skin of their teeth. People talk about how more superior they are going to be this season but they haven't signed anyone yet this summer. As for United missing out on Moura and Hazard, we have missed out on players before (Ronaldinho springs to mind) and still gone on to won things. In fact, It worked out well that we didn't get Ronaldinho because we ended up with an even better player in Ronaldo. I haven't seen much of Kagawa yet and although I realise stats are not everything, Kagawa's stats in a more superior league are better than Hazard's. Moura is only 19 and still unproven and he will remain unproven in my book until he moves to a more superior league than Ligue 1 in France.

As for RVP, although i have reservations about him given the fact that he has been somewhat injury prone since he joined Arsenal (last season was his first full season free of injury), his age and the money United paid, I do think if he can stay fit then he could be a huge asset for the club. With Owen released and Berbatov set to leave also, I do think we needed another top striker. You need four strikers really to challenge for top honours.

Welbeck and Hernandez both had injuries last season and the latter struggled for form when he was fit so neither of them scored more than 10 goals each. If we are going to push City for the title this season then we need two strikers of the caibre of RVP and Rooney playing together.

There's no getting away from the fact that he's a super signing and every club in England would want him in their squad, he is injury prone but a full season and also playing in the Euros seems to put that to bed, there's no way he'll have a season like last seasons but one things for sure he'll definitely score goals!!

My money is on Citeh though, they had a lot of problems and as a squad haven't had long to gel, their best player was off in the African Nations for a while and when he came back he practically won them the league, they have a super squad and will only get better, i can't see anyone catching them!!

As for Liverpool, i just want progress and look forward to seeing more of Sterling this season, still more signings on the way and i hope Rodgers get's proper time to try and build something!!

But United won't play City every week.laugh Plus with Fletcher fit again, Vidic back, Kawaga in and Van Persie up front I think we have a far better team this year.

United's main concern is centre mid. I'm pretty baffled they didn't buy a Moutinho or someone like that. They're a bit 'soft' in that area. I'm sorry but i don't really rate fletcher laugh all the same fair play to the lad for making such a quick comeback... I think United will score more goals than last term, but concede more too. There lineup is ridiculously attack-minded(!)laugh. All the same they'll be there or there abouts come the end of the season. Battle of Manchester Rd 2. Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal to battle it out for top 4 positions
