fast_and_furious: I still personally believe he's a decent centre half and England will miss him terribly

he's not the player he used to be. this is probably a blessing in disguise for their national team

chancer_mcgancer: because he was the England captain

Because when you go to court, you need proof, which they didn't have. If Suarez went to court, he also would have been innocent.

i'm not sure that was the case. Terry was caught on camera, it was proved what he said, and it was pretty obvious how he said it. Higher forces were at play. It would be naive to think a court of law always gets these things right, sad but true

chancer_mcgancer: But that argument was bs. Told to say so by his lawyer i'd imagine. Terry said the words with vile. There's no way any person would say the words he said in the way he said them as "repeating" words. It was total bs and everyone knows it

Again, you have to prove it. If you can't prove it, you can't find him guilty. Simple really. You can't convict a man on a presumption, and a lawyer is hired for a reason, and he did his job.

in my mind it was proven. the court (for whatever reason) chose not to see it. But then again, it would be stupid to presume something as "noble" as a court of law isn't subject to prejudices itself, this has been proven time and again over the course of history with various injustices

Sure he admitted to using the words. How do you prove in what context he said them? You can't prove it, it is one mans word against anothers.

You're wrong. It was on camera. Lip-reading experts can determine the force and tone with which the words were used, facial expression and body posture likewise reveal ALOT. The aggression with which Terry dished out the words suggest it was NOT repeating words that had already been said, but rather dishing out a full-blooded insult, Terry would have appeared taken aback IF he had been repeating what he alleged Anton had said first, but of course this was not the case. It was the court of law that failed Anton in this case, because anyone with half a brain will realize Terry is full of lies and guilty as hell. He's a scumbag pure and simple, and thankfully most people know this and don't need a court of law to tell them the real truth, that he's scum, and he's guilty

chancer_mcgancer: I've never defended Suarez, and most Liverpool fans i know haven't either. My bone of contention was the whole process, it was clear from the outset that the F.A. had a political agenda (giving the finger to Blatter, basically), that and the fact Evra got away scot-free when he was far from innocent himself, the whole process stank to high hell. And now the F.A. have made fools of themselves even further by giving JT only half the punishment Suarez got, and it only took them a bloody year to even come to that decision. When the association in charge of governing fair play and "respect" can't be respected, the whole game is in serious trouble. Shambles!

Liverpool fans. Always the victims.roll eyes Its always somebody elses fault. If it's not the Ref it's the F.A. If it's not the F.A it's the opposing team, manager, player, supporters. Nothing is ever just Liverpools or a Liverpool players fault!roll eyes
