Good game of football. United could have and should have nicked it in the end.

I am very happy with 1-1 though. Madrid have lost 8 on their travels this season and United are always strong at home.

Not meaning to take away from a great game either but the ref bottled it too. Madrid should have had a player sent off, Ronaldo had a shout for a pen and why did he not let United take their corner at the end? There was still 10 seconds on the clock?

All and all a good game, probably a fair result. Looking forward to round two!boxing

Do you freally want Liverpool to turn into one of those clubs that changes their managers more often than their kits? dunno

What did you expect from Rodgers with the squad he inheritated? It was not him that wasted 35 million on that muppet Carroll. He wanted Clint Dempsey and the club would not back him and his punt on Sturridge looks to have paid off.

I'm a Man U fan. I would love to see Liverpool suffer so the more managers you have come through the door the better. But changing your manager every year does not breed success. If in 3 years time he is still in the same position i'd sack him. Ypu cant blame the man for the woes of the club at the moment.

A few minutes before the fluffed chance RVP had a thundering right foot shot fingertipped onto the crossbar by the Real keeper.
And he held the ball anytime he had it even from his own half and midfield areas...if united had better midfielders he wouldn't have to do this....I watched RVP closely in this game and i thought he showed that he was a class player....Arsenal didn't get the best outta him apart from his last season there when he was a goal machine...
RVP and his goals have united where they are this season...

you're right he held the ball up very well and he had to he wasn't getting much help from the midfield, carrick looked totally out of his depth, rafael too, and rooney had a bad game, things improved in the second half though, and overall they had a few players who played very well - wellbeck in particular, rvp, de gea, and kagawa and jones were pretty good too, anyway united will be delighted to take a 1-1 to old trafford, although they could (and probably should) have sneaked it with great chances for giggs, and in particular, rvp. tie wide open

He has bought a couple of duds himself Allen & Borini, I don't want to hear give them time to settle in or he has been injured blah blah, Allen had a enough time to settle in plus he played in the Prem last season, so that excuse don't wash with me, Borini looked crap before he got injured, since he has been back he looks pretty much the same, Sturridge has done ok but I don't rate him, this new fella from Inter Milan I'm not sure about, I mean he didn't make it in Italy so I don't know, I would not say Rodgers is a dead man walking but the pressure is on.

mickeyscouse: Your starting to sound as arrogant as Liverpool fans in 1990

Listen what did Fergie win in his first 9 years? Now look what Paisley won, no contest mate, that makes Paisley the best manager ever, nothing lasts forever you have had your glory, Fergie has got an appointment with the undertakers soon, he has done well, he is a legend, but his grave is calling him, then what?

There are plans in place to redevelop Anfield, giving us a 70k capacity.

I know there is no contest, Alex Ferguson is the greatest manager the English league has ever seen and probably the best the world has ever seen. In his firs 9 years he won a lot. He took over in 1986 so up until 95 he won a couple of FA Cups, a Cup winners Cup and twi league titles. Again math isn't your thing is it?rolling on the floor laughing

And I know Fergie wont be there forever but the club is on a stable footing. We have a huge support. We have a world class stadium and the board are keeping the money flowing. So when a new manger does take over it will be a world class manager like Maurino or Guardiola. We wont be turned down by the likes of Roberto Martinez.laugh

And I have been hearing about you lot redevolping a stadium for years. I'll believe it when I see it.

But you're the typical Liverpool supporter. Banging on about the 70's and early 80's like they were yesterday. That was over 30 years ago. You are no longer one of Europes elite. You cant compete off the pitch with money and on the pitch with the average players you have. Everton have a better quality squad than you at the moment.

And you think thats all Brendan Rodgers fault so ge should go?laugh Its muppets like "King Kenny", Souness and Evans ran your club into the ground.

Nice to see you grasped the FACT that in his first 9 years ole whiskey nose only won the league twice and didn't win a European cup, if Paisley would of been around as long as Taggart then he would of won the league 20+ times with 8+ European cups, that is calculating things on the form he was running.

Nice to see Mancs are still frightened of us and are in fear of the day when the sleeping giant awakes.

Frightened of a mid table side. Dream on.

And IF my Ma had balls she would be my Da. IF Liverpool had United side they would be top of the league. I would hate to have to hold on to IF's like that.laugh

And how do you figure all those European cups? It was you thugs got the Englisg teams banned from Europe so the English league fell behind Euro teams for years. It took until the late 90's for them to catch back up.

Whats it we sing...."We won 3 and you won 5 but when we won ours nobody died!"roll eyes

You hang on to your IF's and BUT's. I take the trophies thanks. Muppet.laugh

Yes. Plenty of goals in the league game. The defending was poor to say the least. He will put out the second string but they are good enough to beat Reading I reckon.
