I think he would be crazy to take that job. If he does not win the league or CL he will be fired. And at the min United and City are miles ahead of Chelsea.

If I was him I'd stay were I was.

To be honest I can't see Sligo being easily beaten this season.

They are favourited but you never know with the League of Ireland. A team can be great one season and awful the next. Good win away to Derry though.

I think Rovers will win it. They are playing Pats on Friday. Always a good game.

Actually yeah I'd say Rovers will, they have spent heavily during the close season, the other clubs can't compete with that.

Interesting to see how Limerick do, their first season in the top flight for decades.

Yes there was a very good piece on the news about their glory days in the 80's with Eoin Hand. Good to see them back.

Yeah though I hope the scumbag element of their fan base has disappeared. In about '84 I was chased from Tolka Park halfway through north Dublin by a group of them after an FAI cup semi-final.uh oh

United fell apart the last 30 mins against Chelsea yesterday. They just had no legs after running around midweek with 10 men against Madrid. I was glad to get away with 2-2 in the end.

Confident we will beat them at Stamford Bridge though. We have won there already this season. The noisy neighbours in the Semi's if we do get through. It's a pity cause no matter who goes through between United or Chelsea the semi final would have made a great final!

Hope it's not Millwall or Blackburn in the final or it might be like Swansea vs Bradford in the league cup final.
I don't think it was a fitness thing with united in the second half..didn't Chelsea play on Thursday night away in Romania, so they would have been more tired.... and arriving back from that game on Friday afternoon would have had much less time to prepare for the FA cup game.

United played 35 mins with 10 men midweek. The extra running a player has to do is what killed them yesterday. They looked tired in the second half. It was definitely tirdness as they controlled the game in the first half when they had the legs.

Quote from Ferguson after the game..."We're lucky to be in the cup. We just ran out of legs and Chelsea were far the better team in the second half," Ferguson said after the 2-2 draw.
"But I can't be critical of my side because the running they had to do on Tuesday night, against a really top side in Real Madrid, had its bearing on today's result, no doubt about that.
"The two full-backs, Rafael and Patrice , are knackered and the two central midfielders tired badly. We kept giving the ball away and it made it a long day for us, going from one penalty box and back to our own."

Exactly. He said we were lucky. And we were. I admitted that. But anyone who knows a bit about football would know that playing with 10 men against one of the best teams in Europe will rip the legs outa ya. And you will feel that later...as we did in the last 30 mins. Chelsea over ran us in mid-field and probably deserved the win....But I am glad they didn't get it.

I've played football all my life and having Wednesday, Thurday, Friday. and Saturday to get your bearings back is enough..if Chelsea came out and said it then fair enough..bringing on Mikel and freeing Ramirez changed the game in my opinion..i'd fancy yous to go through at Stamford Bridge though

I think we will do them at the Bridge too. In truth if we took our first half chances we may have won the game. But for the chances they had in the last 30 mins Chelsea probably deserved the win. But as we all know you dont always get what you deserve in football.

Forgot to add its not about your bearings Mc. Its about your legs. Its the half a yard you cant cover in the last 30 mins because they are like blocks of oak. Chelsea were winning every ball in midfield and Evra couldn't run at all.

Come n mate, these are professional footballers that train for these kind of situations, they would have been preparing for this and players live for these games, it's a pathetic excuse in my book but it's what most managers do to take the heat off the team

I heard that his new Barcelona contract has a 250 million buyout clause.
Last year on the forums somebody said he was only getting paid 160K a week while some premiership players were on about 250K a week.
Even John Terry was getting paid more than Messi.
I don't think it matters other than for an ego thing because Messi can earn millions in adverts/sponsorship etc.
