this IS NOT A GOVERNMENT OWNED SITE if it were maaaaybe the freedom of speech rule would be more aligned with what you think it means to have such freedoms
however this is a privately owned site with rules to be here clearly posted this is capitalism-another american "right"
its like a restaurant posting a sign saying no shirt no shoes no service or a menu saying no substitutions
that is capitalism that america so embraces- it means an owner of a business or service may operate within the law and set their own policies and consumers have the right to engage with them or not
pretty simple-its the basis of capitalism
i dunno who you are but why if it was so important to be here arent you glad to be back? people should leave the thread? why?? mods will look to judge adherence to rules regardless..? if this was a nightclub and you were bounced out and returned thru the backdoor you could be subject to arrest at best and a beating at worst...

i know hes gonna move my next surgery up (he saw the pictures) i dont wanna do it now im in pain again but if i do it now i cant drive to family for thanksgiving- 6 wks min recovery b4 driving!!!

but as far as whether free health care can work
i think any programme can work it did work in canada for a long time but they have been inundated w/ immigration for a number of years recently and many of these people had had little or no health care previous to their arrival...
and yes doctors come here to make more money
most breakdowns are a combination of factors
if it were an agreed priority in this country it would happen but its not we all spend money on our priorities dont we?
we can spend millions on sports figures, concert tix, senator salaries etc etc etc-so if we readjusted our prioriies and followed some models that ever functioned at some point we could do it
thats what america used to do and thats smart now america tries to build a better moustrap and is too arrogant to borrow ideas from elsewhere...
it took a long time to get to this point and cant be solved easily but if it were a priority-it would be possible...
i say-if theyve been able to make all these restrictive plans in the US under 'insurance companies' who restrict what dr. we can see and limit the dr's time to see patients (its often 10 mins per-disgusting!) then if there were no insurance companies allowed to dictate health care at least on that front-things we could back up a bit and start again.
