16 people if that number meant the same regardless of age race creed color or lcation...
16 dead american soldiers is horrifying yet an issue like this goes unspoken in large part
i feel there is no comparison as all such atrocity is sad and deserves to be honored and attended to on whatever level
media is different and better and worse than previous times in history
nowadays they can report 2 american soldiers a day dying when during the first and second world wars-the numbers were so great yet the public was unaware except each on a personal basis (loss of one they personally knew or knew of)
i think all of it dishonors us all and if more humans felt this way if there was no priority list regarding which deaths are 'worse' there would be less politically based violent death..?
just my thoughts-alas it shall never come to pass c'est la vie
thanks for the post trish this has been heavy on my mind this week but i have been quite unsure that it would be received well if i posted here about it
its a very unsettling issue more happenings that make me so sad and feel so helpless
such plight worldwide sometimes it is crushing isnt it?
this is just another rude response segregating and judgemental
number one people get emotional here every 5 minutes and a pregnant woman would surely be emotional over such a subject i dont think using it as a platform to continue telling the OP they are too immature to have a valid opinion is constructive to the conversation in the least-in fact-its the opposite
and 2-whooppee! lots of people have 3, 4,5 kids- doesnt automatically make them an authority on a damn thing in my book
why is it so difficult for people to discuss something rather than resorting to personal character assassination?
and the exaggerating! no one was burned at the stake
its regarding the fact that one cannot think their way into right action
they must act their way into right thinking
i have found this to be true
its a 12 step colloqualism (sp) and the logic is that you cant solve your problems with the same mind that got you to this point, but if you fake it awhile (obviously this requires some guidance) the new behavior and/or way of thinking and responding to situations will become re-trained-hence you will have 'made it'
same as 'act as if'
thats another good one-basically the same tenet and also requires some guidance you cant act as if you are able to do something if youve not done it before
change your thinking change your life- on and on ad nauseum
yes this idea was visited yesterday i think if you arent of a certain age you have nothing to offer in discussion i must say age doesnt automatically equal wisdom nor youth ingorance
how about the abandonement of girls born in some countries?
there are lots of children alive to help im just sayin...
i have no opinion on whether its murder or not opinions get pretty uncomfortable and unwieldy sometimes not to mention, on some issues they are a dead end...
karma gods judgement someone elses conscience or regrettable choices those things are in the category of 'not my business'
what is my business and helps me feel better is when i figure out what i can DO w/out conflict to be of service in some way to a cause rather than whats the saying? tilting at windmills?
goodnight little mother you are blessing the world w/ that little one on the way be grateful
