Was it an assumption or was it a true fact that controlable? How about one simple little variable like the tattoo, did they have exactly the same tattoo? (sorry I didnt read the whole article). From my experience, I found that one of big problems in statistics is when an assumption is applied.

This is my personal view.. I might be considered a stone-aged cave woman, but I am against euthanasia. I believe that all human life is sacred because it is given by God, and that God chooses how long each person will live. Moreover, I believe that for every disease there is a cure. I also believe in accepting any hardship, illness and to be patient. It's not easy, I know.
