RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

Where did everyone go? shock

I hate it when religions discussions turn into a battle. I was just stating my beliefs and backing them up with scripture. That is the best I can do. I haven't been to the otherside to bring back proof. I wish I could.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

I could very well be wrong. Perhaps there isn't life after death, or Islam is right, or Buddhism. I have my faith and I'm willing to discuss it. I will listen to others and compare notes. Should I not be given the same courtesy to have my beliefs like anybody else?

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

But they ask for Gods forgiveness and accepted the gift of life, so therefore, Jesus died for their sins as well. They have to turn from their sins.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

I don't hate people from other religions. The bible tells us to love your neighbor as yourself. Sometimes that is hard. Some people are very hard to love. I do try, but at times I fail.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

Who are you talking to?

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

Also, Christians are not perfect only forgiven, but will also be held accountable for our actions. Faith without works is dead.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

The devil does tempt us to do wrong, but it is our fee will to make the choice. The rain shines upon the just and the unjust. So bad things can happen to Christians, sometimes that is how we learn, but the bible say he will be with us during those times. Bad things can happen when we choose to do wrong. The difference between the Christian God and all the other is that Jesus died for our sins. God has high standards. Do you think Murderers, rapest, etc. should be in Heaven. It wouldn't be much of a Heaven. God seen that we needed help and that is why he sent his son to die on the cross. He took our place, he paid the bill. We just have to accept the gift and turn our lives around. In Christianity, God is reaching down to man. All other religions, man is working their way to God.

But as I said, if I'm wrong and die, I will turn to dust and have nothing to loose.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

Good night thumbs up grin

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

God does not play favorites among His people, however, the Bible does tell us that God's chosen people are the Jewish race because they were the ONLY ones to obey Him in lieu of other gods.

Deuteronomy 7:6 says, "For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession." This does not mean they are automatically "saved" and will go to Heaven. In order to assurance of eternal life in heaven, one must believe in God's Son, Jesus. Because of God's Promise to redeem the Jews in the end times, Israel will turn to her Messiah and be saved. So, in the meantime, any believers in Jesus are "grafted in" and may partake of the Tree of Life.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

God favoried the Jewish people because they followed his commandments. If I was born at the time, I would have been a Gentile, and worshipped many gods.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

I wish I could prove that there was life after death. I wish I could bring something back. I have seen miracles and I look around me in nature and see the beauty and complexity. Even Socraties discussed an afterlife via the Design Theory.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

Good night, have fun with the grand kids! banana

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

That is if they are wrong, and hell isn't a pretty place weeping and gnashing of teeth, and no turning back, no second chances.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

It seems like God always gets the blame and not the devil. God has given man free will, but realize all choices come with consequences.

Ex: I get drunk, get in my car and crash, and die. Those are the consequenses of my action. I still had free will to get drunk and free to drive.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

Jesus was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane (Mark 14:43-52).
Jesus endured six trials - three by Jewish leaders and three by the Romans (John 18:12-14, Mark 14:53-65, Mark 15:1a, Mark 15: 1b-5, Luke 23:6-12, Mark 15:6-15) Jesus survived painful beating, whipping, and mocking (Mark 15:16-20)
Pilate tried to compromise with the religious leaders by having Jesus beaten, but this act didn't satisfy them. Pilate handed Jesus over to be crucified (Mark 15:6-15)
Jesus was mocked by the soldiers as they dressed Him in a purple robe and a crown of thorns (John 19:1-3)
Jesus was crucified on Golgatha, which means the Place of the Skull (Mark 15:22) The sky turned dark for three hours (Mark 15:33).
Jesus cried, "Father! Into your hands I commit my spirit!" and He died (Luke 23:46).

The Romans did the act, but it was the Jewish people who requested it, but it was more the Pharisees, who were the rulers at the time. They were afrid that the people would start following the teaching of Christ. That was a long time ago and not a reson to hate modern Jews.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

Ya know, if you are correct, I will die and turn to just, no bid deal, but if you are wrong. devil

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

Ohhhh, you shouldn't say that, you're going to hell.

I don't think Hell wants you either. ;)

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

thumbs up

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

I don't believe that it says anywhere that the Arabs are bad or anything. Got even protected Hagar and her son. Both the Jews and the Arabs are related through Abraham. If you want to go far enough back, we are all related. ;) So why can't we all get along?

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

So even back then women were also jealous. ;)

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

My mistake, Hagar fled because Sarah was angry with her.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

It is fun being able to talk to you about our differences in beliefs without anger and hatred, but with an open heart.

heart beating

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

Interesting, I didn't know that the Arabs and the Jews are waiting for a messiah. The Christians belive that he (Jesus) has come and gone, but will come again to the Earth to set up his kingdom.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

That is true, both the Arabs and the Jews are descendants of Abraham.

Abraham & Hagar = Arabs Son Ishmael
Abraham & Sarah = Jews Son Issac

When Sarah kicked Hagar and Ishmael out of the house, God protected them and brought them back.

That is why I think it is so sad that the Jews and Arabs fight. They are both descendants of Abraham.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

I'm not sure what you are trying to say here, but because Abraham and Sarah were so old when they had Issac, the bible, old testament, clearly says that Sarah was worried that she couldn't have any children so she gave Abraham her servant who was Hagar. That was also custom of the time, and Hagar had Ishmael.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

Isaac grows to manhood and when he is ready to marry, Abraham and Sarah make contact with their kinspeople in Mesopotamia to avoid a marriage with the local Canaanites. Isaac is quickly linked up with Rebekah, his patrilateral parallel cousin.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

No, in this case Rebekah was his cousin and his wife.

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

Oops my mistake, I meant to say the Arabs were descendants of Abraham and Hagar, and the jews Abraham and Sarah.

I knew that the jews did not believe in Christ as their savior, but they are still waiting a savior, am I correct on that?

RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN

I belive it was translated correctly. It matches with the Dead Sea Scrolls that was found between 1946-1956. I do believe that meaning of words have changed.

Ex: Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not for such is the kingdom of heaven.

It the past, suffer meant to let the little children come ....

In modern times it would mean to inflict pain.
