RE: Why do people choose to have children?

I stayed home from work because I'm sick. I think I got the bug from the conference.

Yes, I believe the $190,000 are basis expenses. Can you imagine if you have a large family?

RE: Why do people choose to have children?

According to a calculator at Bankrate.com, it will cost you $190,000 to raise a child to age 18. Times that by the number of kids you have and that could give you a big reason not to have children. I suppose some might have them so that they have someone to take care of them in their old age, but with our mobile society, I doubt that is a really good reason anymore.

Hi Teresa, how are you today? wave

Who's Job is it anyway

You're right. Women have been so selfish doing all the housework and not letting men advance. So, women, you heard it here. You got to be fair and let the men do more of the housework. You can't have all the control. lol rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Do You Respect "Death"

I have read some on astral projection. I've also talked to a number of people who have said they've done it. Some through meditation, some floated out of their body without trying. I've known quite a number of rational people who have had NDE's or out of the body experiences. I also googled stories of heaven or hell. It is interesting. I haven't been close to dying nor have I had any out of the body experiences, so I can't say one way or another if their experinces are real or in their mind. There has been so many people that have told me that they have had these experiences, it does make me wonder. I guess because I've been open to listening and not calling them crazy, that they felt confortable telling me their stories. It would be nice if someone could come back with some proof that can't be disputed. I guess I will know when I get there.

Who's Job is it anyway

I agree.

One of my younger brothers had to learn the lesson the hard way. He decided to help out my older brother with the dishes while my older brother was at work. He loaded the dishwasher and then added the liquid soap. Unfortunately, the soap was meant for washing the dishes by hand. He then went to check on the mail. When he got back, there were suds all the way up to the counters. When my older brother got home, he asked him what happened. The carpet was a little wet between the kitchen and the living room and the kitchen floor was really slick. laugh

I really don't think good coffee is a gender thing. Some of the guys in my office make pretty good coffee. When they give me that dumb look, I show them how to do it. Sort of the saying, you give a man a fish you feed him for the day, but give a man a pole and teach him to fish you feed him for life.

I would think the logical place for socks would be in the bedroom dresser.

RE: traditional views

I'd pass on the haggisbarf Perhaps it is an acquired taste. What are neeps?

Who's Job is it anyway

I understand traditional values in a traditional setting. My mother was a stay-at-home mom, and it would make sense for her to do the housework, along with us kids, but when both parties are working, it isn't fair for the woman to have to do both. With the high cost of living, it is now a necessity for women to work as well. That is part of the reason I've stayed single, I don't need to worry about doeing someone elses laundry, cooking etc. I have more freedom and time to enjoy my life.

Who's Job is it anyway

I have married friends who have husbands that demand dinner at a certain time and complain when it isn't to there liking. They complain about the house, but don't seem to lift a finger. In my personal experience, I've walked into the coffee room only to find a man staring at the coffee maker and then looks at me "oh, good, someone who know how to make coffee." I didn't know breasts was a prerequisite. So, what I was wondering, why don't men help out when they are enjoying the benefits of the dual income? Please don't tell me it is because you do all the yard work, which is only 3 months out of the year. Have any of the women on here experienced this before? And why can't men find their socks?

RE: Why do people loss interest in CS forums?
