If you are suffering from SAD, I would probably see a doctor. I've seen special ligths in the stores that are suppose to help with this. Also, this time of year can be stressful for some people. My family started drawing names for gifts to cut down on all the stress of shopping. We now have more family time and enjoy the dinner, looking at lights, and hanging out with each other. It is so much more fun. As far as a long term relationship, I would just take it one day at a time, and just enjoy each others company. Good luck, I hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
My father had the jet back hair, when he was young, with the pretty blue eyes. He was quite the looker. I wish I took after him. My brothers have either blond hair and blue eyes or brown hair and green eyes. I like either blue or an emerald green colored with the dark hair.
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug , but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!
If God wanted to he could "prove" that he is real, but that is not the nature of God. Though he is king of kings and even the angel bow down to him, he wants you to humble yourself and come to him personally. If you look in the bible, you will see that Jesus came in the form of man, a poor carpenters son who was laid in the manager. Someone who has everything, but chose nothing. He often got mad at the pharasises because they were so high minded. It is a personal journey. You have to come to him with an open heart. He wants you to do it from your own free will.
Revelation 3:20 NKJV Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
This may very well be. God may reveal himself to you in strange places. If I was you mate I would start hanging out a zoos. I know has a sense of humor.
Yes, I know that is how you feel, but lets pretend that you are a Christian, how would you prove something that is spiritual to someone who won't believe unless they have touched, seen, or heard God? What do you think would help to convince an Atheist, what type of proof would they need?
I would have really loved to hear from the Arabic women. I guess we don't have too many on here. I did have someone mention a pretty good book that I want to pick up.
Socrates explains how it is this desire which compels the student onward:
it is in the nature of the real lover of learning to strive for what is; and he does not tarry by each of the many things opined to be but goes forward and does not lose the keenness of his passionate love or cease from it before he grasps the nature itself of each thing which is with the part of the soul fit to grasp a thing of that sort; and it is the part akin to it that is fit. And once near it and coupled with what really is, having begotten intelligence and truth, he know and lives truly. (490a-b)
To my new Arab frinds who have written such friendly e-mails, thank you! I appreciate the opportunity that you have given me to have a better understanding of your culture. My intent was not to insult, but to bring to light what I have read in books and news articles and seen in movies, and compare that to your personal experiences. I guess I could have worded things differently. I thank you for your kind patients in my learning process and feel that you are a testament to your beliefs and your culture. Now, when I see negative information regarding your contries, I will know that it might just be hype and not the complete truth.
Pretty good today, expect for all these darn arrows that I've been pulling out of my back. I kind of expected it, especially when I call men controlling. Perhaps I was right in some ways, but it wasn't from the Arab men. I have sence met some very nice people.
It's a tough topic, I know, and I have learned quite a bit. I am so happy I am getting stories from who women who have lived in these countries, and quite surprisingly the Arab men who have been e-mailing me have be very polite. I will have to find more books and articles that show the real Arab culture. It has been a learning experince for me.
Yeah, I'm actually getting women with experience! Thanks for writing! Do most of the women seem happy over there? What is life like for a woman where you are living now? Do you feel that you still have a lot of freedom? What are the women's opinion of Western women?
My intention was to see if the stories, movies and news articles was real, or isolated events and if the men were as bad as these stories portrayed. Sometimes the media focuses on the negative and not the good. I only started the name calling when it was directed at me. I really don't care if you like me or not. I took on a tough subject, that I knew I would get flack for, and I figured I would have a lot of arrows aimed at me for not being "politically correct." It is really interesting that I have been getting scolded by people from Western cultures, but the men from the Arab cultures have been quite nice. Perhaps I was wrong about them, maybe the books, movies and news articles were pulling out isolated events. Maybe it is the men from the West who are the controlling one.
I'm not to worried about that. Some men like a more spunky woman. Funny thing is, I've been getting a lot of e-mail from Arab men who are interested in dating me.
Finally! I read so many stories from women who left their countries and reported the abuses. What puzzles me is that their court system seems to condone these abuses. So, you are telling me that the majority of the women choose to wear the burkas? Is it the same in most of the Arab speaking countries? Do you think the men would be different over there than they are here? Ex: Movie with Sally Fields, Not Without My Daughter?
~sunshine/book-sum/princess.html are these isolated cases? Do you think your experiences are more typical of most Arab cultures? I think a lot of people really misunderstood my intentions. I was not trying to bash the Arab Culture, but to get a greater undersanding than from what I read or seen in the movies. I wanted to know if these were mainly isolated incidents or the norm. From what I've read and seen so far, which is quite a number of books, movies and news stories, was that the men did look at woman as second class citizens, the court systems favoried men, and there was quite a lot of honor killing. I would love to hear more of your thoughts because you have more first person experience.
RE: Is this the wrong time of year to start a long term relationship?
